We arrived very late and they left everything ready for us so that we could go to sleep at once when we reached the house. And they surprised us with fresh eggs from their own chicken (they were delicious).

We were very pleased to stay in it. The landlady is amazing person , who is trying to make being in this house unforgettable.

It's beautiful and superbly furnished with sympathetic furniture and ornaments. I particularly liked the windows, the pictures, books, and the embroidered fire screen. The amazing windows look out onto parkland and the river. It was so nice to actually be in the parkland of an historic home. I did a guided tour of Castletown house which I recommend. Walks along the river and through park were beautiful. The host was very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. Check in and out was very easy. The log fire - I hadn't intended to use - but it certainly was lovely to light each evening. I felt very happy and safe here and hope to return next year. There were shops, cafes etc within a reasonable walking distance, the property is at the edge of park and behind it is a lane. So very quiet and secluded in the evenings. I didn't go out in the evening- the property is somewhere you actually want to spend time in. No TV or internet. Nice bathroom - proper bath. A great experience.

We liked the location and that it was walking distance to the village. The owners had put together a binder with brochures from the local area and menus from nearby restaurants. They were very responsive to our questions/issues.
