Staying in a machiya townhouse is an experience in itself. The place was clean and well maintained, too. Bath with a window onto a small garden was a highlight. The futons on the tatami and thin pillows make for a hard sleeping surface, but that is what you're signing up for - the traditional experience.

We we're blown away by the effort and kindness shown by our Host, who welcomed us with gifts and a little tour through the House and History of his ancestor. He gave us recommendations for Restaurants and even booked us a dinner reservation. The House is a perfect Mix of all the technical Equipment you expect from Japan with a deep root in the History you can See/feel in every corner of the House.

During our stay with a group of four adults, we loved the size of the apartment. The bedrooms were spacious and the batchroom & kitchen were well equipped. We particularly enjoyed the delicious coffee and the backery that is just next door. The location of the apartment was ideal, close to popular sightseeing spots and nearby bus stations. The check-in process was hassle-free and the host extremely friendly. Overall, our stay was fantastic and we highly recommend this apartment for anyone looking for a convenient and comfortable stay.

Excellent location and very spacious house for our family. The facilities were very clean and comfortable. Check in was simple steps and easy. We particularly liked the washing machine - which surprised us as it was a washer & dryer and made it super easy for us to clean and dry our clothes in the very hot summer days! Excellent Japanese technology!

A lovely traditional house in a great city. With everything we needed. The host was extremely friendly and showed us some recommendations whilst picking us up from the train station and even let us check in early. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

Amasing two level traditional house with small japanese traditional garden. The same time it is very modern, all facilities and features are .made well. It is so much enjoyable and lovely so we will come again. Air-conditioners (plural - four of them) and fans helped us against heat and humidity. The lady manager attended all small details and helped much. I put much and very everywhere many many times.

Excellent location and helpful to have laundry facilities and free parking.
Great for families or large parties, holiday homes are privately owned accommodation, available for long or short-term rental. These homes are furnished and equipped with kitchen facilities for self-catering, although breakfast may be offered as an add-on. These properties have their own independent front door, which makes them different to apartments.
Fantastic hosts, very welcoming and an amazing place to stay. Very clean and tidy. The traditional Japanese breakfast was delicious. Would highly recommend staying here.
They have many bathrooms, a lounge room and a small kitchen. I was staying alone that night so they upgraded me to a private room for no cost. They also offered to drive me to the bus stop, I found it very kind and thoughtful. The family is very kind, the place is very clean and the environment is very cozy, I am very glad I visited them.
I love this secluded hotel in the mountains! The hotel has a retro style but is very clean. The meals are included and are excellent. During my stay, I had the onsen practically all to myself and I enjoy the outdoor onsen looking out into the forest the most!
Everything was clean and nicely put together! The owner is very very kind and shared some nearby restaurants and way to Ainokura. The hostel is located very near to the bus station. The toilet and shower room were very clean and the room was spacious! The owner also had a heater in the shower room, which I thought was so thoughtful. Would definitely stay here again if I’m visiting!
Room has all you need, full bathroom, ammenities, air conditioning, it's very clean, and all the staff is always nice and friendly. The hotel is next to a shopping mall and another shops and restaurants. A very convenient place to stay at Fukuno.
Everything was very new and very clean.
The host went out of his way to ensure everything was to our likings.
The place is also perfectly placed when visiting the nearby traditional villages.
Highly recommended!
