We went for the bank holiday weekend to disconnect from a busy city and it was so worth it! The place is lovely, quiet, charming. The house is huge, clean, beds are very comfortable with new mattresses, the house was warm and it had lots of facilities. It´s a lovely place if you want to disconnect from busy cities and connect with nature and have some quiet and peaceful time. The hosts were lovely and always available. We will definitely come back in the future.

The location of Claragh cottage is rural with fabulous views of the hills and a lake, with the large town of Cavan within 20 min driving distance and numerous small villages with amenities closer by. The location is ideal for daytrips in Co. Cavan, Co. Leitrim and Co. Fermanagh. The house itself is spacious and beautifully finished to a high standard. A home away from home with virtually every comfort and a royally equipped kitchen (even a juicer and foodprocessor!!). The woodburner was very tempting but with temperatures of 25 deg and above we saved that for our next visit. The 2 bathrooms were to modern standards with rainshowers and a deep bath. Both extremely clean. There is a large patio with furniture and a bbq. In spite of its rural location the wifi reception was very good (which is definitely not common in rural Ireland!). Catherine and Bernard live close by and are at hand if needed or just for a chat. If you're lucky you may even meet sheepdog Nel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to be back!
