This place exceeded our needs and expectations at an great price (cheaper than the chain hotels), and better location. Full kitchen utensils, nice bedrooms, exceptionally clean. Even some snacks and a small jug of milk waiting for us. Keys were easily accessed after contacting the friendly host through the Ring doorbell. Parking permit included for outside and fantastic location. 4 of us visiting for a sports event, and we were really able to relax with lots of space. I would stay here again :)

the location was great, easy to find and very very quiet, the view was really nice looking out onto fields and trees, the accommodation was top of the class, comfy, nice rooms, everything you needed in the kitchen for all your cooking requirements

I stayed here with my son. We had the whole 2 bedroom house to ourselves. Could easily and comfortably fit a family or group of 4 and 5-6 with a sofa bed in the living room.
Very clean and exceptionally comfortable.
All kitchen appliances and utensils are supplied for a self-catering stay and also has 3 tvs in each bedroom and living room.
Easy to use boiler and central heating.
Very close proximity to local shops and pub and within a good distance of town centre, waterpark, museum's, cinemas etc.

Squirrel Barn is a fun and eccentric place which genuinely caters to the whole family (and more!). It is a beautiful old building filled with anything and everything you could think of, with wonderful little touches and a really warm feeling. We were in the area to visit Alton Towers and to be honest we had just as much fun at Squirrel Barn! The owners are fantastic - friendly, accommodating and excellent at contact. Communication with the hosts was great, the house itself is brilliant and a lot of attention to detail has gone into the decor and furnishings.
Great for families or large parties, holiday homes are privately owned accommodation, available for long or short-term rental. These homes are furnished and equipped with kitchen facilities for self-catering, although breakfast may be offered as an add-on. These properties have their own independent front door, which makes them different to apartments.
The rooms are well appointed and very clean. The bed is very comfortable and there was a good selection of tea and coffee and also water - which is often not provided nowadays. The restaurant was great and good excellent with very friendly service.
Staff were welcoming and friendly. Room was very clean and warm. The food was excellent.
