The Loft cottage we stayed in was warm, spacious and comfortable. It has a great. It really felt like home. There is a great village pub across the street with good food and we enjoyed a game of trivia with the locals who made us feel welcome as well.
The hosts were very good and what you see in the photos is exactly what you get.

These brand new lodges are excellent. Durham is a short(ish) walk away - 5 mins in a car. Great for looking around the university and/or relaxing with nature next to the river. I especially like the power shower, the views, the fresh flowers, fruit, wine touches. The overseer James is on hand and can’t do enough.
Great for families or large parties, holiday homes are privately owned accommodation, available for long or short-term rental. These homes are furnished and equipped with kitchen facilities for self-catering, although breakfast may be offered as an add-on. These properties have their own independent front door, which makes them different to apartments.
We have been here a couple of times and both rooms we stayed in were very clean. Rooms have everything you need,beds are so comfortable. Geoff and his team are very friendly and helpful.
Family room was very clean,smart,warm and comfortable. Good location to access Beamish for day trip.
