Beautiful setting and surroundings at the most perfect little cottage.
I watched the birds feed and the squirrels scurry about eating all the foods left for them whilst I was just sitting at the garden swing reading and drinking my morning coffee. Absolute perfection!!! Jennie is an absolute treasure and such a wonderful wise, funny, gentle and unassuming host and quite possibly one of the most interesting and kind people I've ever met. I just wish I could've stayed a few extra nights as there's so much peace, comfort and space to simply be. I'll definitely be back.

Gerry was very welcoming, as was her lovely cat. Barn House was a lovely place to stay, plenty of space, very clean. Breakfast was very good food; it included wonderful homemade bread, jam, marmalade and apple juice. One of those memorable places to stay, in a very good way. We are very keen to return.
Loved Everything..Such a beautiful, peaceful place. The Lodge is furnished to a lovely high standard, very clean and equipped with everything you may need while you’re away. Have to say the bed is so comfy..had the most restful nights sleep. If walking is your thing there are so many places to explore. If you get a clear night you must check out the night sky quite a sight to behold. Hosts are so lovely, very knowledgeable about the area.
Thank you for having us..absolutely loved our stay.
Lovely historic hotel in a historic location. Very nice room with all facilities you need. Very clean and well presented. Well catered for pets in all areas of the hotel. Extremely helpful and friendly staff who couldn't do more for you. Excellent choice for breakfast and evening meals. Great use of local produce.
We stayed for one night and had an excellent experience. The Poppy House is a very quirky old building with oak beams, wonky floors and some added modern touches to make our stay enjoyable. It was very clean and comfortable, with a fridge containing fresh milk (so much better than the long life stuff in so many hotels) and two bottles of water.
Breakfast was cereals, juices and full English with toast. It was lovely. We would happily stay again.
