Sissy and her son gave us a big welcome with a nice bottle of red wine from her husband's vineyard and a big piece of home-made chocolate cake! The house is definitely a dream for anyone missing the mountain life, especially for me who had been trapped in the low land for two years! We enjoyed the house, the garden, the football field a lot, and of course, the wonderful mountain view around the house! There are a lot to do in the neighborhood as well, like hiking, swimming in the lake, and the summer toboggan run. Strange not to see many tourists from other countries, but it definitely gave us more quietness to enjoy the nature and the kindness of the people in Almenland!

Family is very friendly and very helpful. Everything is very well arranged on site, so you do not need any personal contact. Just come and relax on the mountain. Your TV set is your panorama view. Thomas waited upon arrival and explained everything in a couple of minutes with schnaps and his song:) There is a beautiful view on sunrise far away in the horizont directly from the cottage. It is dog friendly and I can only recommend it to everyone with dogs. Bring all meal with you or eat or buy in 5-15 minutes by car but be ready for hilly driving cause you are on top of the mountains. There is hot water and heating. Cottage is nice and comfortable. There are 4-5 houses around but we were completely alone in the area.

This cottage is an island of peace in the soft lap of nature. The perfect silence was broken only by a few wild ducks who came to visit the house, much to the delight of our cats. A majestic deer also often ventured out from the nearby woods onto the hillside, which was richly covered with magnificent grass. The area is fabulous, the people are thoughtful and kind. If you are looking for a truly peaceful place to stay, don't hesitate to visit the Winters' cottage, lovingly and kindly decorated, and enjoy their hospitality and delicious surprises. We will definitely be back! :)

Breakfast was not included though the host would occasionally tun up with apricots and jam. The location is beautiful, with easy access to a local supermarket. Stierabua was actually bigger than it seemed in the pictures. I was a bit worried about the size of the shower as there was no picture of that. But I needn't have worried. It was very large. There is a huge amount of storage space including a walk in wardrobe. I would recommend this to anyone.
