Situated in an idyllic village Jurij, Guest House Vračko is set just 1 km from the Austrian border. This family-run property dating back from 1908 features an à-la-carte restaurant serving traditional meals, seasonal dishes, fish specialties and quality wines. The rooms were very large, modern and absolutely spotless. The owners and staff were so welcoming, friendly and helpful. The attached Restaurant is well worth the visit with great wines from just around the corner and the dishes go well beyond what one can expect on a country side stay. We were a bit worried about the windows facing the road, but they are isolating well and there was hardly any traffic. Wonderful green nature all around.

Surrounded by greenery, Tourist Farm Joannes is quietly set in Vodole. It offers free Wi-Fi, air-conditioned accommodation and a big vineyard. Maribor, the second largest city in Slovenia, is 3 km away. The place is amazing as well as the host. I stayed there for only one night but I could surely mark it as the best accommodation on my trip. Finally, the four course dinner was very tasty.
