He really cares for your wellbeing and for you to make your stay as enjoyable as possible! He provided us with every help and assistance, from tips where to go out for dinner to rainy-day-program, with bath towels for each day and even bathtowels to go to the hot springs (which are a must do in our opinion but thats another story) The room was very nice, clean and had everything we needed (thanks for the anti-moskito-plug! Made our nights very peaceful). In the shared area is even a fully equipped kitchen, there is coffe and even a garden to sit outside and enjoy breakfast. Locationwise you can get to the city center via a short walk, there is one excellent fish restaurant down the street and you have a parking opportunity suitable for mainland europeans ;) Everything you need is close by. At the hostel, every room comes with a wardrobe. Every room includes a private bathroom with a shower, while some rooms come with a balcony and others also provide guests with city views. At Farol Guesthouse the rooms are equipped with a desk and a flat-screen TV. Breakfast was good. I only stayed here for a night and to be frank I was drunk, came fell asleep and left the next morning. However I remember it as a clean room where everything worked and looked clean and well kept. I chose it on a holiday/Sunday as the most economic option so I'm pretty sure their prices are competitive.

Located in Povoação and only 2.4 km from Morro Beach, Casa da Lomba do Cavaleiro provides accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. With mountain views, this accommodation offers a terrace. The guest house features family rooms. Location, atmosphere, breakfasts! everything was perfect and the owner, Rodrigo was great.

Boasting a shared lounge, terrace and views of sea, Garoupas Inn is set in Ponta Delgada, 500 metres from São Roque Beach. The property is situated less than 1 km from Milicias Beach, 1.8 km from Populo Beach and 16 km from Pico do Carvao. The inn has a hot tub and luggage storage space. Amazing place to stay in Sao Miguel - we cannot wait to go back and stay at Garoupas. The location of Sao Roque was perfect for us, right on the coast, with a beautiful sea view and just a short walk to some lovely beaches. It was only a 5 min drive (40 min walk) into the main city of Ponta Delgada so well connected but just enough outside that it was quieter. Having said that, there were some fantastic restaurants within walking distance and I am sure a few of the bars which we saw were closed (due to it being December - off-season) would be thriving in the summer. The room was fairly small and simple but lovely, had a nice bottle of wine waiting for us, a comfortable bed and a nice big shower. There was also regular cleaning throughout the stay. The real treat was the terrace with the most amazing view over the ocean! The breakfast was amazing - yogurts, fruit, ham, cheese, pastries, bread, fresh baked goods everyday and eggs and bacon if you want it. If you go there, request the peach cobbler! The best part about this place through are the hosts - they literally cannot do more to make you feel comfortable and help you explore the island. Make sure you have a sit down with Mike and a map, we discovered some real hidden gems thanks to him!
