It was a pleasure being at this great location on the beach of the Pacific. The pension is like a quiet resort, with a private beach on a small bay, which is also a favourite spot for the golden eagle. The optional dinner (order 1 day in advance) was excellent. For us it was a fine stop between the mountains of Shikoku and the Nara peninsula. We had a spacious cabin with a bathroom. An additional Japanese bathroom can be used as well.
Totally cute traditional Ryokan with kitchen and several rooms. It feels a bit like a hostel but it is really charming because there are only Japanese houses around and gardens in a very rural area. Seems really authentic. Nice host and good standard!
I just loved staying @Mitsuka guesthouse! Yukiko is a very helpful and attentive host. She made me feel at home and her cooking is absolutely high-class! Her sightseeing tips are on spot and she knows the local surf and dive shops. If you go to Shishikui, this is the place to stay at! I'm already missing it

A nice hostel that is a few minutes away walking from the central area of Tokushima. It was my first hostel on Shikoku and I left my bag here to pick it up again after my pilgrimage. Due to its price, it's a good place to stay and also because baggage storage the perfect place to start your pilgrimage. The dorm is comfortable and you have your own cabin. People in general are quiet. Included is breakfast, nothing super special but OK.

Great location to visit Iya Valley (just need to catch the JR train a couple of stops to Oboke). Nice, traditional guesthouse 10 mins walk from town/train station. You can use bikes for free to ride into town (only 5 min ride to a big supermarket). Air-conditioning in the room and we also had a small balcony. Can use washing machine for free and we dried everything outside. Beds were fairly comfortable for Japanese style.
Great hostess whom helped me calling my next stay. The view over the bay is amazing both evening and morning. There's a kitchen making it possible to cook your own food or use kitchen amenities if needed. 7-11 is next door and an Onsen is also nearby!
