We liked the atmosphere and style of the place, it was so beautiful. The room was spacious, breakfast was good, and Kanako-san was very thoughtful and helpful with the sights and food around town.

The guesthouse is located right next to a little secret path to the sea and next to a little seaside town with amazing rock formations and views. I was travelling without a car and the public transport is a little difficult, so the hosts always made sure that I can get to places without any issues.

Matsue Station is 15 minutes on foot or a 5 minute taxi ride away. Guest house Yonemuraya was a pleasant surprise. It was so much better than staying at a hotel, as it felt like a more authentic Japanese experience. I travelled to Matsue for a conference at Kunibike Messe convention centre and this was only a short walk away. Emi-San was an excellent host, helping me with finding place for dinner, sightseeing and shopping ideas when I had time off work. There was a lively restaurant area nearby, and the train station, castle etc were within walking distance.

The renovated guest house has a barbecue and terrace, and guests can enjoy a drink at the bar. Free WiFi is offered and free private parking is available on site. The house is equipped with traditional Japanese furniture and really cute souvenirs. The host couple was super friendly and we can only recommend having dinnner at Kusuburu house - the food was delicious. We even went fishing with the host and he prepared the fish we caught right after as Sashimi and fried fish - one of our favorite experiences during our four weeks in Japan. We really hope to be able to visit Kusuburu House one day again.

The guesthouse is located in a very sleepy town, so I didn't expect there would be much to do other than go to bed. Instead, I had one of the best nights of my trip! The workers and guests I met in the common area were great fun and we all stayed up late talking and playing board games.
