Super cheap bike rental. Great breakfast deal with the cafe. We liked walking around that area, really friendly locals. We had a really great stay! Fyi if you want to watch the fishing with the birds, you can cycle to it quite easily. When facing up river, if you go to the right hand side and walk down the pebble beach to the shore, you get an amazing view!!

Offering a sun terrace and views of the garden, Tajimi Guest House is set in the middle of nature, 3 km from Tajimi Station. Nyakuichioji Shrine is beside the property and a mountain stream flows through the property premises. The property was beautiful and thoughtful. The mid-century furniture and beautiful ceramics on display made the accommodation feel very peaceful and homely. The doors opened up onto a peaceful garden with a creek running through it. Will definitely return next time we are in Japan. The hosts were very accommodating and friendly.

Just a 2-minute walk from JR Takayama Train Station and Takayama Nohi Bus Center, Guesthouse Tomaru offers an renovated 80-year old Japanese-style accommodation. Free WiFi is provided throughout the property. Sanmachi Important Preservation District is a 10-minute stroll. Opposite train and bus terminal. Short walk to Family Mart and restaurants. All attractions within walking distance. The owner is friendly and helpful with various recommendations make my stay fun and efficient. I won’t reveal where or what cause I don’t want long queues and crowds to be there. Will definitely stay again. Thank you for making my visit to Takayama a wonderful trip :)

The shared toilet & shower facilities were also very clean and nice—overall the building interior felt very new.

The nearest airport is Toyama Airport, 82 km from ROMANSTAY. The apartment was very clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. We stayed for one night during the Takayama festival as a couple but it can accommodate more guests. The open-air bath was fun and easy to use with privacy.
