At the guest house, all units are equipped with a desk. I have travelled all over the world, visited many many cities and stayed in all kinds of hotels. Generally I don't write reviews for hotels as I find them mostly fine, though nothing extraordinary to write about. However, I feel compelled to write a review for Rock Castle Residency of Leh due to the exceptional hospitality of the hosts. The room we got was fine - spacious, clean, and with a large comfortable bed. The balcony of the room had a superb view of the neighbouring hill and of the mountains further away. The guest house had a cute dining hall where the chef's dishes are very much like home cooked food - simple, fresh, tasty. But what delighted us most about the place were the gracious, warmhearted and helpful hosts. Family run and managed by individuals including Rigzin, Nordom and Prince, we felt absolutely at home during our stay. In fact, we had issues with acclimatizing for 3 days, and I had to take oxygen support during the nights. Rigzin and team helped us with everything, and without any hesitation accomodated our requests for extending our stay in Leh and then also cancelling the remaining stay without penalties when we decided to bail out and return to Delhi. They fed us delicious meals made from vegetables grown in their own garden, and even brought tea and meals to our room (against their house policy) when I was not feeling well. We weren't able to explore Ladakh fully this time, but if I ever come back to Leh I would most definitely stay at Rock Castle Residency only.

The property has inner courtyard and quiet street views, and is 1.2 km from Namgyal Tsemo Gompa. The accommodation provides a shuttle service, while a bicycle rental service is also available. Very accommodating and excellent hosts. Not many guests, as most people stay at their larger location across the street. I originally booked 3 nights online, but stayed again after I returned from a trek and they changed me the same excellent rate I got online.

And the rest of the food is amazingly delicious! The staff is friendly and helpful. I recommend only staying here if you want to visit Leh!

Their genuine care and attention to detail made my stay memorable and exceeded all expectations. One of the standout features was the delicious home-cooked breakfast prepared by the family. The organically-grown apples from their garden were delicious and that added a unique and delightful dimension to my stay. Beyond the comfortable accommodation and picturesque surroundings, what truly set this homestay apart was the family's willingness to go above and beyond to ensure guests felt like a part of their extended family. Whether it was offering local insights, organizing cultural experiences, or simply engaging in heartwarming conversations, their genuine enthusiasm for hosting made every moment special. For hiking enthusiasts, I embarked on the Markha Valley trek, and they arranged for a local guide while also offering transportation to and from the trailhead. In a world where genuine hospitality can sometimes be hard to come by, Raku Guesst House stands out as a shining example. I wholeheartedly recommend this homestay to anyone seeking not just accommodation but an authentic and heartwarming experience that leaves a lasting imprint of warmth and kindness. Featuring a garden, the guest house is close to several noted attractions, around 1.5 km from Shanti Stupa and around 900 metres from Main Bazaar. The property is a 1-minute walk from Namgyal Tsemo Gompa and a 19-minute walk from Soma Gompa. The staff at the property were very helpful and available at all times. They made us feel at home. Padma also assisted us with cabs to go sightseeing and going to market.

The guest house specialises in a continental and Asian breakfast and breakfast in the room is also available. Rooms were very clean and allowed lots of light. Location was good, Diskit not a large town but close to the market. Staff were friendly and hospitable. Very well priced.
