Set in Durham and within 15 km of Beamish Museum, 40Winks has a terrace, allergy-free rooms, and free WiFi. The 40Winks guesthouse in Durham exceeding my expectations. The guesthouse is situated perfectly in order to have access to the Durham city center, but also feel out of the bustle of the city. The staff consistently went above and beyond to make us comfortable and ensure we enjoyed our stay. I cannot recommend them enough!

Located in Middleton in Teesdale, Brunswick House features a bar. Both free WiFi and parking on-site are available at the guest house free of charge. I have stayed at many B&B, Brunswick House was up there with the best,Andrew was a very good host and the breakfast just couldn't be beaten top marks.😁

A family run business who make you feel warm and welcome from the time you book until you leave. The location is perfect as a base for exploring the local area. I feel I have to mention the very high standard of food. Its not the run of the mill bar food here. Its food fitting of a Manor house. I only wish we had stayed longer to try everything on the menu. All very reasonably priced as well. Real ale behind the bar and an open log fire. Large selection of drinks and food all day and the breakfast was spot on. Whether you are looking for a place to stay or after a meal with a proper local feel then you won't be let down if you give the Manor House a try. Well worth a visit.

Housed in a historic building, Homelands Guest House offers accommodation with a garden and free WiFi in Barnard Castle, less than 1 km from Bowes Museum. The best part was The warm personal welcome and care for a guests needs. My room, the lounge, the breakfast room, and the bathroom were all of old fashioned, leaning to Victorian beauty and comfort. The breakfast was superb with locally sourced butcher’s bacon and sausage far superior to the supermarket fare I’ve been served in cafes. Breakfast was prepared with attention to aesthetic appearance as well as delicious taste. The room and bathroom were thoughtfully supplied with everything one could need from face cloth to a luxurious bathrobe with thick, plush towels and bedding, good heating, and more amenities in between.

Set in Castle Eden, 2.3 km from Crimdon Beach, The Ship inn offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a restaurant. The ship inn's location/accommodation/gardens and breakfast was excellent, couldn't ask for nicer,such welcoming hosts my wife and I felt like we were part of the furniture and most certainly will be coming back again 😃

Boasting a hot tub, Stunning 2 Bedroom Guest House with Hot Tub is set in Durham. The property was built in 19th century and has accommodation with a patio. Absolutely fantastic place to stay , exceptionally clean , and nothing was too much bother ! Would definitely recommend this place and no doubt will definitely be visiting again in the future!
