Our host, Helen, was just wonderful - excellent, clear instructions to find the property, proactive, early communication and she waited for us to arrive, late in the evening, to personally get us settled, which we so appreciated.the overall property was just beautiful, absolutely idyllic, and the annex where our rooms were located was well laid out, extremely comfortable and had far more facilities than you’d expect from a B&B - you could have cooked in the kitchenette if you wished! The accommodation was comfy and cosy, lovely shower, comfortable beds, and the aspect from the sitting area was something we really enjoyed. I would not hesitate in recommending this property to anyone traveling to the area, which was perfectly located for access to Bletchley Park, Blenheim Palace and Oxford. I very much hope to return!

Cliveden House is 37 km away and Watford Junction is 39 km from the guest house. I was very pleased with my stay at Aylesbury, the room felt cozy and the bed was very comfortable. Although I had to share the bathroom, the place felt so much like a home that I felt relaxed and comfortable with that. I highly recommend it for those who prefer something more personal than the experience of a hotel chain.

It has been sensitively restored this year, with the aim of providing a premium, contemporary English inn, with sophisticated charm and historic character. The building features a 17th century fireplace and exposed beams, it also has free WiFi and free on-site parking. Fantastic authentic pub in an amazing village. The touch of sloe gin in the room was superb. Staff overly and above helpful.

A 10-minute walk from the centre of Great Missenden is the Nag’s Head Hotel, a 4-star 15th century inn. Guests can enjoy contemporary styled interiors, Anglo-French fusion cuisine and free Wi-Fi.

Nearby Great Missenden is home to the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre, and in the local area there are many quaint villages and pretty country walks to discover. I liked the back patio area with different types of seating.

With picturesque English gardens, West Lodge is a 19th-century Victorian house, offering free parking and good breakfasts. West Lodge has en suite rooms with TVs, DVD players and tea/coffee.

The friendly West Lodge Hotel offers excellent service and hospitality. Country pubs and restaurants are within easy walking distance. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left West Lodge was perfect. Fabulously comfortable rooms, ample tea and coffee (and more available if required) excellent wifi, superb breakfast, lush garden...and all served by a charming host. We really could not recommend this hotel enough.

Ideal for a weekend away in a quaint village, the hotel has easy access to Milton Keynes, Aylesbury, Leighton Buzzard, and even London via the M1.

The only public house and restaurant in Drayton Parslow, The Three Horseshoes offers competitive rates, generous meals, and rooms with oak beamed ceilings. The atmosphere inside the Shoes is always warm and welcoming, especially during the winter months with the open-sided log fire. Outside there is a child-friendly, enclosed garden where the whole family can enjoy a summer day. Food offering was limited but this is a village pub. Not a restaurant, portions were very generous.
