At Villa Saimaan Sydän each room comes with bed linen and towels. .My room was brilliant . It was big, had a table and 2 dining chairs a fridge microwave and coffee making facilities. The wi fi was great. The shared bathroom was convenient clean and well provisioned. The lady who runs it, Pia was brilliant communication was great she makes herself at your service, perfect. I'm sure its Pia's personal touch that makes this place so great.

The guest house is equipped with a flat-screen TV. The kitchenette is fitted with a microwave, a fridge and a stovetop and there is a private bathroom with bathrobes and slippers. The accommodation is non-smoking. Everything was absolutely spectacular. It was one of the cosiest places we've ever stayed in, and it truly felt like home for the three nights that we spent there. There were so many things that were free to use whilst we were there too, which was very rare! Coco, the dog, was there to greet us too. Very cute! It was especially convenient that we had access to bicycles too, and everything in Joensuu was within a good distance to the apartment. If you like pizza, I ate the best pizza I've ever eaten in Finland at Pauliina Pizzeria, just a few minutes away. Hope to come back again! Kiitos hyvin paljon.

Set in Paltamo, Kotolinna, Kotomo Oy features a garden, shared lounge, terrace, and free WiFi throughout the property. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a barbecue. The inn offers a sauna and a shared kitchen. The whole town is in the middle of nowhere, even by Finnish standards. But then again, this is probably the appeal :) There is a train stop though on the Helsinki-Kuopio-Oulu line for Paltamo, which is about a 10 minute walk prom the property. There are big stores and a petrol station too nearby, and of course the river and the lake, which are beautiful. You can swim too, if you want. The property is a large and fairly luxurious private home by appearance, divided into some private bedrooms and generously large common areas, like kitchen and bathroom. All very clean at the time of my visit.

At the guest house, some units are allergy-free and soundproof. We loved that our room in this cosy B&B had a stunning lake view, a patio to enjoy it from and a very nice and modern bathroom. No noise and a lot of nature. Friendly owners. We hope to come back some time.

Kuopio Airport is 14 km away. this was like a time warp from the 1950s in every way - music played, friendliness and approachability of staff, service, everything. Even the fact that they were essentially "closed" on sunday. if you want to travel back in time but not compromise on comfort go to cafe asema.
