I shy away from giving reviews as I have often seen how service can change with time but with this guest house it is amazingly different.
I remember on my earlier visits to the Sunrock guest house (2012), when the swimming pool and the Sunrock Curio's shop was just a dream and the owners would give service be it at the airport for pick up and drop off or at the reception area.
Over 10 years of visiting this home away from home has been nothing but consistent in ensuring that the guest's both local and international receive nothing but the very best of customer service. As much as their dream is now a reality, for me I still feel their attention to detail through their trained staff. Thank you Sunrock team for the consistency.

After our third stay I could easily say that’s absolutely place to recommend. We love the host who every time welcomed us like at home. We really enjoyed everyday breakfast. Rooms are spacious with very comfortable beds. We also had an opportunity to be picked up from airport by the host, we are very thankful for that.

I actually didn’t stay there as when we arrived we were told we’d have to sleep at another guest house as they had no electricity there. Not a problem as it was said it was a municipal issue, however with regards to the pricing it showed that the other guest house was cheaper than what we’d actually paid for .
Excellent value for money, great location, fantastic breakfast. A bonus was the cheese and wine available for everyone at 5pm. Rooms were extremely quiet with no aircraft noise
Great area to visit, quiet and gated area. Close to the shops for quick necessities. It's a very spacious apartment with privacy and everything you need. Ennet was a great host, communicated with us and was available when we contacted her
I booked on the 4th June to check in 17th and check out 18th June. Then check in on my return on 4th July and check out 5th July. Both instances my bookings were mixed up and I was told there was no space and had to be sent to the Nightingale bed and breakfast. This is totally unacceptable by the hosts and such a huge inconvenience to guests. Can they please work on getting their bookings right
I was not expecting much for the price. Colour TV; Fridge; comfortable bed and pillow. A very thick blanket and electric blanket on the lowest setting gave me a great night's sleep. Breakfast was free and nicely cooked. Quiet despite closeness to the airport. Desiree and Stewart were great host who transported me to and from OR Tambo airport for R170 each way. Arrange to meet at Stand 2 (there's no Stand 1!
The guesthouse is beautiful and clean. Situated in a quiet anf safe area. Loved that there was back up power for loadshedding.
The host went all out to provide us with water, due to an unexpected municipal water problem in the area
The staff was incredible. Every single person was so kind and so welcoming. I got ready for my wedding at this guest house and everyone was so accommodating and went out of their way to make it super special. I arrived very late and was greeted with so much kindness and understanding. The guesthouse is stunning and has so many amenities. My husband and I had amazing breakfast the morning after our wedding and the host was so amazing and made sure we had everything we wanted. I would recommend 100% and will personally be back soon!
