Offering sweeping views over the Mpumalanga Lowveld Valley, this 5-star guest house offers a fine-dining restaurant, a pool in the gardens and individually decorated suites with a fireplace.

Guests can begin their day with an al fresco breakfast in the Victorian gazebo. During dinner, the Highgrove’s restaurant offers candle-lit meals accompanied by local wine.

Before we reach the hotel, we drive through the avocado and macadamia plantation that belongs to the estate. Upon arrival, Tracey, the owner of Highgrove House, is waiting for us for a warm welcome, refreshing towels and a welcome drink. Tracey passionately talks about the history of the family business and shows us the beautiful gardens and main building. You imagine yourself in a bygone era. We notice that attention to detail will be the guiding principle for our stay here when we receive a tour and are escorted to our suite. Literally everything has been thought of. Over the past few days we have been spoiled culinary and we have really enjoyed the peace and nature. Nothing was too much for the team of Highgrove. We wished we could have stayed longer. We’ll be back!

Margrit was so lovely and accommodating! The rooms were in superb condition and views were outstanding. We weren't able to take part in the morning breakfasts due to our packed schedule but both mornings she packed us a beautiful breakfast basket that kept us filled throughout the day! Would highly recommend.

Highly recommend! The owner, Isabel, was extremely helpful. She made effort in arranging my transportation and tour, and sent me a lot of messages to make adjustments. It was a memorable stay thanks to her.

Not sure there are enough positive adjectives to describe Zarafa. Suffice to say that the comfortable and stylish accommodation, the location, the delicious food and the charming smiling staff are only surpassed by the generosity and kindness of the host, Barrie. He is a man who truly understands hospitality and his eye for detail and interest in the comfort of his guests are guaranteed to make anyone's stay at Zarafa memorable. Thank you Barrie and Zarafa staff! We will be back

Really good breakfast & portion. Peaceful, quiet, and quaint stay. The road is a little jank from town, but town is still very close by, <15 minutes. Hosts were pleasant and had much stories and advice to share. Would for sure stay again!
