Gecko House, hotel in Kizimkazi

Set just 200 metres from Jambiani Beach, Gecko House offers accommodation in Jambiani with access to a garden, a shared lounge, as well as a shared kitchen.

The accommodation is 200 m away from the beach and numerous restaurants and beach bars. Trevor was an amazing host and took his time to show me around Zanzibar and teach me some of the local lingo. I really enjoyed my stay at Gecko house.

Beautiful detail and authentic feel to the property. Good quality food cooked in an open view kitchen. Excellent and friendly local staff throughout. Meliks, hotel in Kizimkazi

Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, Meliks offers accommodation in Jambiani. The guest house has a sun terrace and water sports facilities. Free private parking is available on site.

Lovely, cosy, quiet hotel that looks exactly the same in reality as in the pictures. Tastefully furnished and decorated in typical local style. Outdoor areas to relax in with friendly, helpful and unpretentious staff. Breakfast was fresh and good (although it would be nice if one or two more things could be added as it gets a bit boring after a week of eating pretty much the same thing, even if it tastes good). If you ask, the staff will organise tours and activities for you. As I have a walking disability, I was helped immediately or picked up when I had difficulties with where to go. Living in another African country where life is not safe at all and everyone hides behind high walls and security measures, I really enjoyed the feeling of peace and security in the hotel and on the island. I would definitely come back.

Stay House, hotel in Kizimkazi

Boasting garden views, Stay House offers accommodation with a terrace and a balcony, around 400 metres from Jambiani Beach. With city views, this accommodation provides a patio.

I liked everything. ABDULLAH the host was the nicest person ever. He did all that he could to make me feel at home and safe. He was always there to help me! The property is located in a quiet area of Jambiani away from the crowds in the heart of the village. At a 2 minutes walking distance there is the beach and the main road is very close too, where you can catch a Dala dala to Paje, stone town or the nearby villages. The breakfast was absolutely delicious ( homemade) and the room was super clean. Also there are various local restaurants and fruit sellers nearby the property. All the rooms have mosquito nets. I loved my stay at Stay House!

Beautiful location, loved the quirkiness of the place, so peaceful and the fire was great at night. Olivia and her husband were great hosts, helped to make husbands birthday special. Helped us with a car wash too. The food was lovely. We only stayed 2 nights on our travels but we would've stayed longer had we been able.

A great location - quiet, right on the beach, and within a large bay. Beautiful views from the shoreline and the garden that surrounds the hotel is very well designed and diligently tended. It provides an eden-like atmosphere. The food was delicious and very well presented by smiling, attentive, and joyous staff. As a very seasoned traveller with high expectations, our stay exceeded them in almost all areas. Zanzibar is on the up, and I would recommend going now before it becomes busy!

a boutique hotel away from the crowds. They farm most of the food served to the guests following sustainable agriculture practices, and the guests can visit their field, farms and gardens. The romms are designed by a famous architect and the overall setting is just very charming. A lovely place, also graced by a very friendly staff

Great location with beautiful views in quiet fishing village. Comfortable beds, huge bathroom, very clean. Beautifully maintained garden and villas. We loved the food in the restaurant, all the seafood dishes were super fresh and very tasty. Their curry and pilau were super good too. We didn't try any of meat dishes but being on Zanzibar you can't expect a wide range of them. We liked the breakfast options too. The massage I got there was amazing, I strongly recommend it. We liked the staff as well, very friendly and professional.

Great seaside position. Tranquil thatched cabins set in lush grounds. 6 cabins ensures staff can be attentive and guests can communicate if desired with ease. Excellent swahili twist to the food. Hosts are charming and available whenever needed. Transport from Stone Town/Airport can be arranged and takes about 75 minutes. Hope to return soon!
