The house is marvelous!!!! It’s such a nice villa with modern facilities and stunning view! The host offered us coffee and biscuits upon our arrival. Although she can’t speak English or Deutsch but we can still communicate by google translate. I don’t find it’s a problem at all since she’s super sweet regardless.

Everyone was lovely! Andrea in reception was very friendly and helpful. Vinnie in the restaurant downstairs left a lasting impression, always joyful and greeting us whenever he saw us. The room had plenty of space for two adults. We booked a budget room and it still had an ocean view from the window. I fell asleep to the sound of the ocean each night.

The host, Maria was very kind, responsive and helpful, eg with tips for restaurants. The flat was well maintained and equipped - with little details like plenty of coat hangers and toilet paper. Everything worked well and whatever we needed was there. We loved the views from our top-floor flat - very enjoyable to eat breakfast looking out over the town and with the sea in the distance. It was also quiet at night. There was a large supermarket 20 mins walk down the hill -easier with a car, and a few small shops 5 minutes away.

Manuel is a great host! He provided us with everything we needed for 3 nights with a baby, we could do the laundry, we even got a ride to the mountain trail! Great host and great place for everyone who loves mountains, countryside and beautiful views by the ocean.

Very charming and cosy house with a wood stove; the host living in the appartment above kept us well stocked with fire wood. Nice spacious balcony (without direct sunlight). Good access to the eastern walking trails. It has a car port.

Amazingly spacious house fitted with all amenities. Great view and short walk to the ocean. Quiet village with few tourists (we stayed 24-30 Dec). Small shop and bars/restaurants nearby, bus stop nearby. Amazing hikes to be done from here (we loved Vereda do Arieiro). Ana proved to be a very helpful and responsive host.

    • The location is ideal to visit Pico Ruivo. Or to hike PR1.1 or parts of PR1.2 and PR1.3 (and many other stunning mountain hiking trails in this area of the island. • It is also calm and quiet in the area, away from the hustle and bustle in Funchal. • The host that received us at the property was very friendly! Made us feel right at home!
