Boasting a garden, bar, shared lounge and free WiFi, Império Romano Guest House is situated in Beja, 200 metres from Beja Regional Museum and 350 metres from Castelo de Beja.

It's like staying in a well curated museum. The host Jorge is very attentive and friendly, the rooms are extravagant and spotlessly clean, the bathroom fairly new and very well taken care of, the beds comfortable. Breakfast was also very nice.

The staff is very nice, rooms and bathrooms are clean. If you just want a good place to stay for the night I recommend this place. 15 minute walk to the city centre. It's open 24/7 and if you come with the bus to Beja, it's just a 5 minute walk from the busstop to the hostel.

We loved our stay at Maria's Guesthouse and were delighted to be able to park so close to the accommodation especially as we were in the middle of a really old town with very small streets to negotiate. The breakfast was simply amazing! To be greeted each morning with so much fresh fruit and gorgeous homemade jams and cakes as well as yogurt, eggs, bacon, sausages, cold meats, local cheeses, warm croissants. We didn't need to eat all day!

Paola and his mother Maria were very warm, helpful and attentive hosts. The guesthouse is beautiful, such special attention paid to decorating details, our bedroom was stunning. And the breakfast - best we've had in Portugal. It's also in a great location and parking nearby was easy. We were sorry we only had one night!

This is a charming traditional guest house, run by a charming Beja family. Our room looked out on to a quiet street, which led us to all the nearby sights and amenities, and we had the most fantastic bathroom - huge and sparkling new. There is a wonderful small shaded courtyard, with 100 year old orange and lemon trees. Beja is a lovely city, not too touristy, and we wished we had arranged to stay longer - and we'd have been very happy to stay longer at Hospedaria Santa Maria.
