We stayed September 2024. The place is charming as you enter and Camila on reception was lovely. The place suffers from a severe lack of investment and the food is precooked, plated and reheated to order...pretty poor & over priced. We were in the room above the reception area and it was pretty awful, had a real drab feeling to it and the bathroom was dreadful. Everything seems to be done on the cheap, which would be fine if it was priced accordingly, but its expensive for what you get. Our room didn't have a proper lock on the door, there were almost no sockets to recharge phones and you couldn't sit squarely on the toilet because the bath was in the way. The shower was old and horrible over a tiny slippery bath tub. We came to an agreement with the owner, who tries to hide behind the 17th construction excuse, regarding a partial refund which we felt was fair. Such a shame as it could be a beautiful stop on the camino.

A friendly welcome, a well equipped kitchen and clean comfy rooms. Very good. And fairly close to the centre of Esposende and the sea. An honesty approach to drinks too.

Historic building, centro historico location, great garden balcony room
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Size of accommodation, really well furnished. Amazing views, quiet location. Lots of nooks and crannies to relax in. Each room had an ensuite. Not a touristic area, felt like real rural Portugal.
Our host was extremely nice, always smiling and helpful. The scenery was perfect. Wide and perfectly clean swimming pool, good breakfast, music room, we had an excellent stay with my husband and 2 children.
A beautiful heritage house, our bedroom in the main house was elegant and beautifully restored. The property is 25 mins from both Ponte de Lima and Viana do Castillo so perfect for touring the wine areas along the river. if you turn left outside the property and drive for 5 minutes you can walk in a Parque de Valinhas. The house is lovely and Antonio is a great host, make sure you see the family chapel. we stayed four days, going out all day and coming back to this lovely sanctuary every evening. a perfect stay.
