Everything. The place is amazing inside, very quiet and peaceful. The host is more than a beautiful person, so friendly, caring, and always responsive.
I arrived yo another hotel by mistake since they have similar names and she called me to ask when I will be there. I explained to her that I got confused and I was in the wrong place and she had so much understanding about the situation and got worried that something may have happened to me. The hospitality of this place is just unique.
The room was exactly as the pictures shown. Spacious, super clean, clean sheets and big bathroom, all new constructed and in perfect condition. There was a balcony with a wonderful view in the forest, coffee, a kettle, and cups to have your coffee im the morning, laundry service, food delivery at your room, and a fridge.
There was hot water, very rare in Sri lanka, good water pressure, and place to hand your towels and things on the bathroom.
WIFI was good, considering that you are in a Forrest and you can book the safari with them, better do it through your host they know they best guides!!
Overall, it'd one of the best places I have stayed world-wide and with better quality and service from most of the 4 and 5* hotels I have been to, with a very reasonable price.

One of the best places we stayed in Sri Lanka. Owners are extremely nice and hospitable. They picked us up at the bus stop by car and we were given cold king coconut uppon arrival and the owner also opened it for us later so we could eat the part inside.
The room is nice, fully equipped with kettle, mugs, tea and coffee provided. Mosquito net is also present. AC worked flawlessly same as the fan.
Everything was spotless clean. Hot water in the shower available.
We ordered dinner that was prepared by the owners and it was simply amazing. We had Chicken and Dhal curry with coconut milk being poured on the rice. Absolutely fantastic. We were also given some complimentary fruit after dinner.
Make sure you eat at this place!
They organised the safari for us and we didn't have to do really anything. Price was 55 USD for half day and 72 USD for full-day (08/2024). Originally we went for half day but then we extended for full-day. Owners were so nice to let our things in the room and didn't charge it!
Our safari driver Asanka was great, he has 18 years of experience in Yala and made sure we saw everything including leopards, elephants, pumbas, bambis, crocodiles, buffalos, lizards and even a bear! He really has eagle eyes.
The owner gets up early to serve you a tea and coffee at 4:15 before your safari trip. Just incredible!
We were also dropped back to the bus stop in the evening and they made sure we got on the proper bus to Hiriketiya (Dikwella).
The value you get for your money here is incredible.
I'm telling you, if you don't stay at this place, you'll make a great mistake!

The owners are very nice and always helpful from the time of booking until we left.
Place was clean and tidy, the lake view is incredible and if you look around at the place you see loads of nice flowers and nice details.
Food was fresh and good and more than enough.
We organised with them also our full day trip to Yala National Park. The connected tour provider (Janaka) is a good one and trustworthy. Ask for Su as Guide, he explains a lot and has very good english skills and speaks also decent German, which helps a lot when you speak about different animals in the park.

Perfect stay if you want to do a Safari at Yala National Park! My room was big, bright and very comfortable, I even got a balcony. The hosts are super friendly, I immediately felt at home. They even gave me a bike to explore the surroundings and provided me with helpful recommendations. You can also book the Safari with them for a very reasonable price. Moreover, the lady even waited with me at the busstand to make sure I’ll get the right bus (btw. I could not find a direct bus from Tissamaharama to Ella online, but apparently there is, you just have to ask the locals). Very big recommendation 🫶🫶

By far my most favourite place we stayed so far in Sri Lanka. So pleased we booked for 2 nights and not just 1 for our safari. Was absolutely perfect after a busy week sightseeing in sigirya,kandy, nuwara eliya and ella. Cabana is beautiful in idyllic surroundings. The family who own it are so special and very attentive with beautiful children who speak english very well and are very polite. They are also very curious about you and i had a lot of fun interacting with them and playing in the garden along with their dog bruno. They brought us tea, freshly made juice and even cooked a delicious meal for us. In the afternoon after our safari they sorted us with some bicycles so we could cycle the surrounding areas and into the town. Think this was a highlight of my holiday as was just what i needed and everyone was super friendly saying hello when we passed. The local area is stunning also and we got to see some wildlife.

The property is ver clean, with AC and a very nice garden. The person who greet us was magnificient, attentive, nice and cooked dinner for us under request (he went buying as we made the booking last minute). The surroundings are nice. I do higly recommend it!!

Beautiful location, close to two of the lakes. We had a lovely stroll in the afternoon and early evening to go watch the fruit bats and birds. A/C worked well. Very friendly hosts. The guesthouse is cheap compared to others in the area; dinner was also cheap.
Great host. He helped with some currency exchange (I did not got enough from the airport), arranged a good (and cheap) dinner on the new year's eve when everything around was closed, helped with a tuk tuk.

Wow our host was the best! He was so incredibly helpful. Fixed the aircon right away, helped us with repairs on the tuktuk and brought us cool drinks and coffee exactly when we needed it😁. The rooms are big and comfortable, with a large bed. Nice shower, quiet location. Lastly we booked an amazing safari in the National Park @ the guesthouse. Couldn't be more satisfied with this accommodation!
Indika is a very charming host and also a great chef. We had dinner twice and enjoyed both times.
The room is as shown in online photos with a big comfortable bed. When the restaurant/reception area is completed it will only enhance the experience.
Indika organised our Yala Safari, the bus to Colombo and even drove us to the bus stand in his tuk tuk.

Absolutely amazing hosts - really helpful! We were greeted on arrival by a cold king coconut to drink and a cold washcloth, fresh fruits were brought to us during our stay and we booked a great safari through them.
The room is a nice size and clean. The accommodation is really pretty, surrounded by plants, and a great location near some local restaurants and an area where fruit bats live. You can see thousands of them nesting in the trees. Wifi is good and bed is large.
Shanta was an amazing host. We stayed for 2 nights at his place. Really quiet and peaceful house and surroundings. He helped us with everything. We did the Bundalla safari and went to Kirinda beach. Also Shanta made a delicious meal for us with different kind of curry's and also buffalo curd. We highly recommend to stay at Yaye Guesthouse. We enjoyed every moment of it.
