It's a beautiful place right at the beach in the calmer area of Nilaveli. With only three cabanas, it is super peaceful and perfect to deconnect!
Amal is a very helpful host! He arranged us scooters, a trip to pigeon island (which was amazing) and a dolfin watching tour! He also cooked us an amazing seafood barbecue diner and arranged a table on the beach with a great view on the sea. What more can we wish for...

The Laxsume Guest house was great value for money and the host was incredibly helpful - sorting tuktuks, tours, food, any issues etc. The guest house is a 2 minute walk from a pigeon island tour meeting point - highly recommend doing that and dolphin watching if you get chance. Lovely restaurants nearby too.

I booked a budget fan only room which was fine, I would just put the fan on for a bit and leave the door open to let the room cool down a bit before sleeping. There was a foot bath just outside my room which was great for washing the sand off my feet so my room didn’t become a beach! The seating area outside the room was great and doubled as a space to dry my towel and things after a day at the beach!
The location was perfect, a few minutes from the beach and a few nice restaurants. Ideal for what I wanted.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, all in all a pleasant stay!

My wife and I booked the 2 bedroom house. It’s a 2 min Tuk tuk or a walk on the beach to the reception. It was clean, quiet and spacious. It’d be a great spot with friends for a few days as you’re so close to the beach and you have 2 bathrooms, a full kitchen and an outside chill area. We’d definitely stay here again.

Great spot for a beach holidays. The room is large, with a very comfortable bed, and it's nice to have the shady verandah for relaxing and having breakfast. Having access to a fridge and water kettle was a big bonus for us. We appreciated the shady patio area as well. You can't beat the location - the beach is just 300m down the road and family restaurants and little shops are all around. Owners are very nice and helpful.

We had a great time at Dark Waves. It is a short walk to the beach, the rooms are large and very clean and in a beautiful courtyard full of flowers. The hosts were extremely helpful including organising a dolphin watching trip, thank you.

The location in Nilaveli is perfect. The beach is 5 minutes walking. It's a very quiet area, perfect to relax.
The home stay has a good vibes atmosphere, with a garden with "hamacas", and full day open kitchen.

I arrived very early and they stored my luggage, also in the departure day.
We took extremely cheap room without AC for about 10 dolars for two persons for 1 night. We got what we paid for.... There was no problems just bring your own toilet paper...,.. Locality is good less than 5 minutes to the beach. There are few good restaurants near guesthouse too.
Located on the beach, the location is ideal. Overall it’s quiet and the room is comfortable and large. The AC works well and there is ample space and seating in the room. There are well kept gardens on the property with lots of interesting birds - we also appreciated the mini fridge and water provided in the room and the drying racks outside. Nice laid-back guesthouse with rooms looking onto a private garden. The location is great, very quiet and only a 2 minutes walk to Nilaveli beach. Our bedroom and bathroom were clean and nicely decorated. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed but we could still have breakfast there. There are a few other very good restaurants within walking distance. We had a very relaxing stay there!

This was the best accommodation I had in Sri Lanka so far. The room was big and very clean. The owners are so kind and answered all my questions and the Guesthouse is only a few minutes away from the quiet Nilaveli Beach. The breakfast was delicious!!

We enjoyed the silence, harmony, friendliness and beautiful area in Amal’s Paradies! Perfect location to slow down and to discover Nilaveli, Trincomalee, Uppuveli,… Amal is a very nice host. Always helpful, available before and during our stay. We will def come back to this beautiful place. It was also very nice to see that the extremely lovable dog was allowed to have such a nice and quiet place to live. We really enjoyed his presence. a soul of an animal.
I recently stayed at the beach hut property and had an absolutely delightful experience. The hut is charmingly designed and just steps away from the pristine beach, offering stunning ocean views.
The hosts were welcoming and provided excellent local recommendations, making our stay even more enjoyable. Their hospitality truly stood out.
Overall, I highly recommend this beach hut for a serene and relaxing getaway. I can’t wait to return!
Quiet and great location in Nilaveli, near the beach and a couple of good restaurants. The host and his family were very kind and helped us to arrange a scooter, snorkelling kits, breakfast, and other tips. Big, comfy, fresh and clean room. The little garden and terrace was perfect to chill out. We had a lovely time!
