Calm and relax place which have a vintage vibe lightings. Clean rooms and pool. Extremely helpful staff. The property owner (Nelson) and his wife always greets us and have company to get feedback and improve our satisfaction. Food is amazing as the owner pick fresh ingredients everyday. Highly recommend to taste there food even it is little expensive than the near by restaurants. Beach is 20 meters away as you can cross the road to reach it. Loads of restaurants near by and "The Wave" restaurant is the best one which we liked.

I had a great stay here. The lady that owns the property is so lovely and friendly and makes an incredibly generous breakfast. The room was really clean and comfortable.

Amazing place to stay- huge, very clean and welcoming rooms in gorgeous serene setting, a sanctuary. Lovely staff (loved the fresh coconut) who were very accommodating (esp with transport, tours and rickshaws) and all the food was delicious. Beautiful empty white sand beaches just a very quick and cheap rickshaw ride or 10-15 min walk away. Highly highly recommend.

Our stay exceeded our expectations. Traum villa is a unique place, created with love, care and a great sense of aesthetics. the rooms are very large, equipped with nice furniture and a very comfortable bed and modern bathroom. The large terrace opened directly onto the swimming pool, which was carefully cleaned every day and where you could swim. The facility has a place for exercises, e.g. yoga and Ayurvedic massages. The exceptional host Monika took care of our well-being. As there were no other guests at that time, we could freely use the large, well-equipped kitchen and prepare our own meals, just the way we like it best. It is a place absolutely worth recommending to people looking for peace, respite and connoisseurs of good style. It was one of our best stays in Sri Lanka. We highly recommend it, and we will be happy to come back.

The attractive cabins are located in a beautifully landscaped garden. The rooms were spacious and clean with both air-conditioning and a ceiling fan. There are plenty of power points throughout the room and bathroom. The bathroom was open air which was attractive. However, watch out for mosquitoes, especially in the morning. The pool was clean and large..
The owner and the staff were very friendly and accommodating of our requests. We had daily dinners which were very tasty and of substantial quantities, as were the breakfasts included in the room tariff.. Bottled water was supplied. Highly recommended.

What a lovely and family place! The room is very cosy and clean, the host family is kind and welcoming, and breakfast beyond delicious. Great location near the beach and with restaurant around the corner. Bentota is definitely a hidden gem and Family Guest House is a perfect place to stay and explore the area.

This property was a real oasis on the other side of the railway track. It was luxurious, had lovely decor, had a good pool, had great hosts and was excellent value. The breakfasts were fantastic and our host Nelson cooked us 2 delicious meals on our 2 nights there - the food was so good that we just didn’t want to eat anywhere else. Right up there with all the places we stayed in during our Sri Lankan holiday. A great find!
Great hospitality. Location is good, facing the water, in a quiet area close to the main street. Wonderful breakfast, with fruit, yogurt, eggs, bread, juice and coffee/ tea. We also had dinner there one of the nights - great fried noodles; best dinner in Sri Lanka. The host is very welcoming, and helps out with whatever you need, from water sport to excursions and renting a scooter.
Best place to stay in Bentota! Silent area and 5 minute walk from the beach. Also a beer shop on the road at 2 minutes.The rooms are very nice and have quiet AC. I was very happy and extend my stay. The area is great for SURF,The local restaurant host recommended was great too! For the money I pay I am more than happy.
Lovely room hosted by a lovely family. The room is spacious and comfotable with a quiet a/c. When I first arrived, the wifi wasn't working that well, I mentioned it to the host, and he called Digitel and fixed it in 5 minutes! Then there was a huge storm and the electricity went out, and they were in my room in no time turning on the fuses. No problem was too big for this family! I also loved my breakfasts here-- I have all kinds of food issues-- low carb, no gluten, and the dad happily created healthy and delicious breakfasts for me!

I had a lovely new year celebrating in janus paradise rest. Janus was a great host, the location fab. I didn't venture away from the hotel for my 4 days. The rooms were comfortable, the prices fair, staff pleasant and food nice. I shared some good company and fab sunsets. Which was pretty much what I was looking for. The pool was pleasant in the Sri lankan heat. The ocean in Bentota is rough, not easy for casual swimming, but refreshing, and the beach clean and quiet. Thanks Janus
What a wonderful place. We felt so welcome. The room was lovely and clean, and we had a quite large outdoor private area. The host is very friendly and serviceminded. She recommend the best restaurants and made good deals for us for tours and transport. The guesthouse is in a quiet area not far from the most wonderful beach you could imagine. You just have to go down the road, cross the railway at the station and go through the park....We highly recommend a stay and would gladly return of we came to the area again
It was very friendly and quiet place near from beautiful beach with very kind host who makes a great beakfast (a lot of fresh fruits and every day different food). The room was small but sufficient. The hosts picked up at the airport and during our stay, when we needed, they drove us in the tuk tuk somewhere. There was family atmosphere, we felt there like at home. I definitelly recommend this accomodation.
One of the best guest houses I stayed in during my trip to sri lanka. Rooms are reasonable and clean. Location is great, close to the beach amd city center with the river right in front of the house. The host are increadibly helpful and polite. They offer travel tips and advice as well always do their best to help with anything you may need. Very nice experiance. Excellent value for money. 100% recommended
