We had the best experience possible of checking in quite late after a long day and with a busy schedule ahead of us. Takeshi is very welcoming and in perfect English helped us out with our itinerary on visiting Naoshima & Teshima as well as providing tips for other must-see places in the area (as we were there to visit some architectural highlights), with some really cool less touristy options that are not often mentioned in other guidebooks. All in all a very relaxing experience even though we had a full itinerary during our travel through Japan!

Beautiful, comfortable home which was a very short walk to Noguchi Museum in the nicest neighborhood. Close to a ton of great restaurants but very quiet and peaceful. We wished we lived here!

The place was really clean, and had everything that we could need all laid out for us when we arrived. The owners are the most wonderful people you'll ever meet, a kind older couple who live across the street from the building and speak perfect English. We often chatted and they let us use the bikes as often as we wanted. They will happily answer any question and sent us information in advance about how to access the hotel from Takamatsu station.. The room is really lovely, with a cool tatami room and kitchen, and traditional futon beds. The location is really peaceful and easy to access public transport. Just bear in mind that there is no lift, but the building is only 3 floors so it's only minimal stairs. All in all, I highly recommend this place, you will absolutely not regret it!

The hosts lived on site, very professional, and still very easy to approach with questions or concerns. They provided handmade guidebooks (in Japanese and English) for the neighborhood and also the general Takamatsu/Kagawa area. You can tell that they are comfortable hosting international visitors. The apartment was spotless and a great place to stay for multiple nights. Our room was a good size for two people. Three might've been a squeeze if staying for more than one night. 24-hour grocery store within walking distance was a plus. Parking is available on site as well. The hosts also offer free use of bicycles or umbrellas, if needed. Just ask! Also, the AC unit was so quiet that we didn't notice it was running; that was mindblowing. =)

The house is beautifully designed, very clean and super comfortable bed, great shower. Breakfast is very good. Yumi and Tadao are so thoughtful and caring and gave good recommendations for restaurants and places to visit. Everything is perfect! Highly recommended!

Probably the best price for value in Takamatsu. Young owner was vey helpful in all kinds of matters. Very spacious room decorated with deco bed covers and paintings. I liked very comfortable sofa with several pillows in addition to two beds. Excellent kitchen facilities with fridge and bathroom with free very good quality shampoo and conditioner. Also new aircon and very comfortable sitting room with many books ant tv. WiFi was very fast. Guest can also use laundry facilities for free I liked immaculate cleanness in all rooms. There are also several bicycles to be used by guests for free. This is my second stay in Akane Guest House and in its price range there is nothing equal or better available. There is also huge supermarket 2 minutes walking from the Guest House with any kind of food you may want Highly recommended.
