The house is a contemporary renovated town house, it is actually more spacious than the pictures shown and the lighter is much softer and warmth, there is a small backyard with a tiny pond in the middle, the 2nd floor have some interested hollow floor design with a foot bridge connecting the bedroom so you can see the first floor from the 2nd floor, the art collection such as some wall painting and slide door as well as the teapot collection is quite classy as well

We had a wonderful time staying here in this beautiful home. Emiko and her family are warm, kind and hospitable. The accommodation exceeded our expectations, it was spacious enough for two people with a lot of luggage and the beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable. We slept so well! Emiko went above and beyond to make our stay smooth and easy. She even took us to the station on our way out, having packed all our luggage in her car! Truly a kind family and a lovely stay. Thank you!

It is a little cute inn with a very kind owner couple. I was traveling solo with my dog, and lucky enough to find this place. The room I stayed was a smaller one of the only two rooms they had. Very cozy tatami room with private toilet and basin. Shower/bath tub room was shared. My little Cavalier Slept in a connecting room. The owner lady served an amazing breakfast downstairs. All home made Japanese style breakfast. They made my stay very comfortable I left with a warm feeling.

Maanger was friendly and always willing to help when we had questions and offered us local informations which made our stay memorable! He borrowed us some bicycles during our stay which made getting around super convenient as I am an amputee and too much walking is not good. Also when we relocated back to Tokyo we forgot some items which the Manager and his cleaning staff informed us and he shipped it to us in Tokyo without charge.

I used the kitchen a lot, which was a great help for me (being vegetarian in Japan implies a lot of self-cooking and less restaurants options). The host was very friendly and welcoming, he is that kind of guy connected to the place he lives in, knowing typical japanese people and places that are still true to their tradition/craft/specialty and not too influenced by the west and that is great, as I wanted to get in touch with that aspect while in Japan. The best: he got me in touch with a Hari expert called Hirata who gave me Hari treatment (Japanese meridian massage and acupuncture) which restored my vitality fast and got me over the jetlag effects after the first session, while the second session got me more stable in this direction. Now I know what kind of masseur to look for during the rest of my stay in Japan ;)
The host also gave me a ride to the station at the end of my stay, and he was generally a very pleasant presence.
Definitelly recommending him and his place and will be back here next time I'm in Kyoto!

The staff was friendly and very helpful all the time. The other travelers were also respectful and the atmosphere was also very nice and safe. The place was always very clean, tidy and you have all the amenities that you could need during your stay. The staff was very warm and welcoming. We enjoyed staying in a typical traditional house and we recommend it!
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
The host was so nice and kind! He spoke excellent English, and was very accommodating. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone going to Arashiyama. Great location, too!
Amazing to have a whole, large house to ourselves for this price and in such a great location. Our host was also kindness itself, making sure we had all the information we needed, picking us up and even taking us for a drive to show us around. A really special stay.
The interior of the accommodation was really great, Everything needed was there and the host was really kind and gave a lift from and to the station upon arrival and departure. If I ever go to Kyoto again I would want to stay there, but then not on my own, to be able to share this wonderful experience.
This is the best place I have seen in my whole travels of Japan, the authenticity is outstanding, the comfort is amazing, the facilities are perfect,
The host it the best person you could ever hope and expect for when renting in a foreign country, he truly went above and beyond and he became a very amazing friend,
10/10 for the property
