Great location for the Sunshine Beach parkrun which was the purpose of our one night stay - right across the road from it. Very individual and interesting property which was very clean and had lots of extras. Quirky decor! We had a lovely welcome from our host

Fantastic studio, really spatious, with great large hard bed and western furniture. It feels a bit like staying at a fancy bar with a bathtub :D. The decor is really unique. Everything works. Location was perfect for what we needed - the conference centre. Lots of shops nearby, good transport links by bus or a metro some distance away. The owner went out of his way to help us and be nice - thank you so much!

Outstanding, I stayed here for a conference at the Kyoto International Conference Centre. It was a perfect location for the conference Centre, there were multiple buses within about 2 minutes walking, as well as a local train line. The house itself was wonderful and very comfortable. It is a very efficient use of space and very comfortable for four adults. I easily would have handled a few more. Hiro, the host, was lovely, very attentive. The bread and tea in the morning was a very nice touch. It is a traditional Japanese home with many nice little touches, and the hot tub was great! It is not in a tourist area so local restaurants are very affordable and tasty. I highly recommend Hiro's house!

Very convenient location close to public transportation (busline one block away), yet the inside of the building is quiet, especially the guest rooms. Also, a 24 hour market is very close by...a good source for snacks and take out meals. This guesthouse is walking distance to Ginkakuji and close to the Philosopher's Walk. If you want to experience the quieter side of Kyoto...this is the right neighborhood for that.

The staff and owner are very kind, I really enjoyed the stay. The location might seem a bit far from the crowded city centre, but it is very close to Philosoper's Walk and Ginkakuji Temple. The bus station is also close by and the last bus runs around 11 pm from Kyoto station, so there shouldn't be a problem with transportation. The neighbourhood also has some unique shops you can check out and you can use the free bicycle provided in the hotel (there are 5 bicycles). The twin room is very spacious and they provide a heating bed and kotatsu for winter. The building is 3 floors and well maintained. They have a separate building (+-7 minutes walk) for guests to use as a gathering space with friends, cook in the kitchen, or just chill with some drinks in it. This separate building, called "Seki", is a traditional Japanese house/villa with spacious sitting space and AC on the second floor. They preserve the architecture as much as they can and it has been standing for more roughly 100 years it seems. worth the trip!

The owner was extremely friendly and adaptable to my situation, she was very kind and even let me keep my bags at the property ling after checkout time so that I could explore more of kyoto. The beds are comfortable as well as the toilet and shower facilities.
