Guesthouse Onomichi Paw Paw was fabulous and very much in the traditional Japanese guesthouse fashion. The Guesthouse is run by the owner and his family and they can't do enough for their guests and made us feel at home. The room and facilities were very clean and comfortable and it was very reasonably priced. We had one of the two Tatami private rooms but there was also a hostel option. The location is also great for starting the Shinamani Kaido as it's right at the start of the route and you can rent bicycles from the owner toom. Can't recommend it enough!

I have tried shared houses before and this one just made me feel so so comfortable. The bed and everything else were really cozy (the hair dryer was good). I was blessed with really nice roommates. The house is safe with locks on every dorm door. It seemed far for the station but it’s actually not. Along the way there are shops and lovely views. There is one convenient store just beside it and another one a street further. I definitely recommend this guesthouse :) Make sure you visit Choco toko when you are at onomichi :)
