This was a lovely apartment with all the amenities and a strong life saving AC that helped us survive the Naoshima heat.
The location is great, conveniently located just outside the city bus stop and opposite one of the best (if not THE best) Okonomiyaki places we’ve ever been in Japan.

A cosy and comfortable place to stay. Quiet and a little out of the way but the island is small and so nowhere is ever too far away. Having the use of the bikes was really helpful in this regard. The simple breakfast was really appreciated when we arrived and the owner very kindly arranged to take us to the ferry on our last day. All round and overall - great and we loved Naoshima!

The owner was very friendly and helpful. Even when handling our late arrival or our last minute plans for Naoshima (or giving us back a kids watch we left behind), he was always willing to help.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Host was extremely helpful and allowed us to check in early. She also recommended and booked restaurants. It was a great location, local to the port and good restaurants. Although shared accommodation it was very quiet. Bathroom and showers were very clean. Would definitely recommend.
Everything was wonderful. Location - we saw sunset on the water just minutes walk from the property. Peaceful and quiet. The hosts were so friendly and helpful - dropped us off at and picked us up. Food left for us in the apartment for snacks and breakfast. Its a beautiful place with all amenities which is right in the heart of the Art Project. We only wish we had stayed longer!
The house is exceptionally beautiful in a traditional Japanese way, exceptionally quiet and extremely well located, walking distance to restaurants, beach, and main museums which are Naoshima’s main attraction.
The host came to meet us in person at the ferry terminal to show us the way to the house (10 minutes bus ride + 1 minute walk).
I cannot think of a better place to be based to explore Naoshima.
This seaside guesthouse is perfectly located on the small harbour of the 3rd village of the island of Naoshima. It is some 20 min. walking from the northern ferry harbour and some 10 min. by bus from the southern harbour.
We had a nice room with seaview, with a shared living room/pantry and a shared bathroom. The host was very friendly and the complementary bicycles were free to use.
