Beautiful house in rural location. A large traditional breakfast with many dishes. Very kind and friendly host. Small but clean and attractive onsen. Perfect.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
my first time in a ryokan: great experience altogether. very confortable room with futons, nice living/bedroom with two little tables, fridge, kettle with complimentary green tea + a sweet.
the use of the internal onsen was great, very clean, quiet.
complimentary yukata to use while there was amazing to get into the real atmosphere.
free toiletries were also great.
the ryokan is 10min by public bus from the main station, close to supermarkets and a couple of places to eat.
Village centre is 10min walk.
You can’t get a cheap shared hostel like this anywhere else in Japan. Located in a rejuvenated Ryokan built a hundred years ago, you’ll get to enjoy the old good Japanese style accommodation soaked in the beautiful wood scent with the minimum cost. Plus there is personal furo that you can use for free, if you don’t like the Japanese shared bath.
Great location with eateries nearby. Quiet and scenic rooms. Staff was friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. Facilities very well maintained and clean despite being shared. Highly recommended.
Great location, right beside Usami train station. Usami seems to be a quieter area than Ito or Shimoda, so nice for families to rest up before heading on to other adventures around the Izu peninsula. The facilities exceeded our expectations: very clean kitchenette and laundry area. Very useful to have drying and hanging racks for inside and outside. Tatami futons were very comfortable to sleep on. Room had a nice view over Usami and the sea. It is 5-10 minutes walking distance to the beach or the grocery store.
Everything was fine, very good price-quality ratio and very nice host.
The room was bigger than expected, quiet, with a beautiful view on the coast.
The train station is near by walk, but without car you have to check the timetable.
Such a lovely host, very friendly and helpful during our stay. The room was super cute and very clean. The location is in a beautiful neighbourhood, lovely and quiet with great views for sunrise. Loved everything about the JOYinn, would definitely stay again!!
My 5th time staying at this hostel, which is honestly more of a guesthouse. If you want a budget friendly Onsen experience not too far off the major tourist trail this is the spot. Staff are awesome as always
