Shimaotoya, guest house in Iriomote

Situated in Iriomote, Shimaotoya is situated offers private and dormitory rooms. Free shuttle service is available from Nakama (Ohara) Port, a 5-minute drive away.

Amazing people, very helpful and kind. They pick you up from the terminal and have lots of information about what to do on Iriomote. May even offer you a ride back if you meet them at the supermarket, play music in the car, or sing amazing songs while you're there. You can relax and enjoy the quiet and also the sounds of the island. The building is spacious and has a lot of communal spaces and a big garden. Every corner is comfortable and clean. And the bus stop is not far.

Irumoteso Inn is a 15-minute walk from Uehara Harbour, from which Ishigaki Island is a 40-minute ferry ride. Local attraction Pinaisara Falls is nearby.

Perfect room, very comfortable bed. Delicious food - the best we had tried in Japan! We stayed here the second time - like we come back home :)

Just in front on the beach which is very famous as beautiful in the island “hoshizuna(star sand) beach. And the beach is so peaceful and easy to watch a lot of fishes and corrals,even you just bring your water glasses. And the accommodation owns the Restrant as well and customer doesn’t have to bring your wallets,they check the end of stay for all. Which means you don’t have to bring your wallet to the beach,no worries while swimming is kinda big deal to me.

    The forte of this guesthouse is the wonderfully pristine view out onto the sea and hills without any building. So just pure nature. There was an impressive collection of jazz CDs that could be played on the room's CD player.

    It’s a beautiful place on Iriomote. Very spacious, well taken care of and you can feel the love the owner has put into the guest house. It’s possible to get breakfast and a very delicious home cooked dinner if you let them know in advance. They also pick you up and take you to the port. The garden is a wonderful place to relax and watch the sea. Nice special: you can get cold beer directly from the kitchens fridge.
