Clean, cozy place! We stayed for one night and were the only guests. This obviously skews the review to be very positive as we had everything to ourselves. We had one of the upstairs rooms. Enough space and clean. Downstairs in the main area we used main area, the kitchen and washing area. Also all clean and spaceous. Homely decorated and welcoming.
Happy Apartment is located a 5-minute walk from JR Shiroishi Station. All rooms are equipped with a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, microwave, kettle, hot tub, hairdryer and wardrobe.

Easy and quick to reach from New Chitose Airport. We were told that we need to get off at Shin Sapporo station and take another train to Shiroishi. However, we found that the train from the airport actually stopped at Shiroishi so we didn't have to get off at Shin Sapporo and wait for another train. It is also very close to the city centre.
The owner was also quick to sort out the toilet light which stopped working on the first morning.

we were not sure about the location of the hotel when we booked, however, although it's a bit remoted from town but the location to those who drives is considered fine. the hotel is quiet and tidy, although the hotel has no dining facilities, we enjoyed much with the opened social area - a huge dining table with supporting pantry for our own breakfast as well as a comfortable sitting space
Koukaso is a wonderful place to stay. The accommodation is scrupulously clean and the host polite and accommodating. He answered all my questions and even took a delivery of one of our bikes that got lost on its way from NZ.
There was a kitchen so I was able to cook my own breakfast and a lovely garden to sit out in.
I would highly recommend this place for solo travellers, couples, or family groups.
close to the airport, about 20 mins drive. it’s simple but nicely equipped apartment. it is a little strange as it’s on the second floor of a store, and you go through a co-working space to get into your apartment, but we arrived late in the evening and left early in the morning, so the place was empty. Host is very nice and responsive.

Rooms and living area were beautifully decorated, host prepared various board games for guests to play with. Kitchen was well equipped.
Host operates the bagel shop below and the bagels are delicious!
Host is also extremely friendly and helpful!
