Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Conveniently located in Golden Circle and next to Laugarvatn geothermal baths. The old building is very charming and has a nice antique atmosphere, with some beautiful furniture and quaint pictures. Friendly staff.
- Quiet and well-equipped amenities.
- Easy to drive to many famous golden circle spots.
- There’s a hiking trail suggested by the host near the house. It may require some strength but it comes with astonishing views.
The location is easy to find, there have restaurants and supermarket nearby.I would gladly recommend this guesthouse to anyone.Bathroom was super clean.Easy check-in. Everything works well.Gullfoss and Geysir can be reached in ~30min by car.The host gave us welcome Iclandic chocolate, which was a really nice surprise!
Great location - in the middle of the wilderness, so we were able to see lots of stars. Thingvellir national park was very near too. The house was warm and quaint, with a spacious bathroom. Pull-out couch bed was spacious.
Björk’s Guesthouse is a comfortable, hands-off affair. Checkin and checkout are without host contact. It’s clean and modern looking. We thought it was slightly difficult to get the temperature right in our corner room. Instant coffee and tea are provided, and we had a mini-fridge in our room. There’s a nearby grocery store you can walk to.
Just perfect. Everything you could want from a guest house. Convenient location, simple check in, clean and tidy, newly furnished, everything working, en suite bathroom, quiet and peaceful, brilliant hosts. Nearby spa (or municipal swimming pool with sauna for 1000 ISK)
