The hosts were the key to the enjoyable stay here.
I read the reviews prior to booking, wanted somewhere to have meals ,a chat and companionship and found it in truck loads.
The first night in met up with 3 French friends and we all sat around after food and sang karaoke, myself very badly but our hosts were incredible.
Just beautiful people who were genuine and cared about their clients.
Wonderful people to chat to and DukeRaj was named after her late husband, bless.
They made the trip a real plus on top of beautiful scenery, food and the railway trip to Ghum,
Thank you DukeRaj.

The location is the only USP of this place. Bad Food, room service, no daily cleaning in room and lack of basic amenities like hangers for clothes. The staff and owner are very polite though and did their best but they can really improve on food since the stay is far from main market. This is not your regular hotel and you need to compromise on some things.

Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Absolutely amazing view , amazing host.
We wanted some peace and quiet after hectic workloads. Darjeeling seemed the best way to catch up , reconnect and take a breather and the homestay was the best decision.
The host doesnt interfere unnecessarily, is also quick to respond when needed and the stay has some of the best views of Darjeeling.
Excellent setup, very clean, well maintained. Special mention of Mrs Romila n family. Great hosts., very friendly, Tasty homely food, very courteous staff. Great location, not far from mall.
It was a great experience here to be hosted by amit and Shraddha, the location is awesome and amit is great host he helped us throughout our darjeeling trip and his wife Shraddha is a sweetheart do try her nepalis chicken curry, aloo Paratha and chowmein they are delicious....Overall it's a great experience Tobe hosted by such a sweet couple
The rooms are very clean and cosy ✨️
Great location near the central market, lovely host and hotel manager SP that helped us so much with our trip before and during our time in Darjeeling. The bar in the property is amazing! We went to a few other places in Darjeeling but ended up always coming back to the hotel as nothing had such good vibes like the bar/restaurant in Golden Orchid. Food and cocktails were amazing and so were the staff there.
Location: Even though it was 10 minutes by shared jeep ride to Darjeeling town, the rides are frequent and cheap. The homestay is in a quiet spot and it has lovely views onto the town, hills and mountains. The hosts mr Rajesh and his wife are congenial, kind and helpful. The food is homely and hits the spot. The staff are very good.
What a great hostel. The staff were very friendly and made it feel like home- especially the owner. What a gem he is. The location is super quiet with a great view. They offer to taste local tea and to rent a scooter on site. The owner’s dog was a great and cute companion too!
Fantastic welcoming hosts
Great tasty food

Easy and cheap transport available nearby to get you to the middle of Darjeeling.
Overall such a wonderful experience, and would strongly recommend it.
