I stayed there during a family trip to Alnwick castle, coming from Inverness. After being on the road for 3 days on a harry potter tour with my family, which includes 3 kids (15, 12 and 2), it was awesome the way i welcomed at the Amble Inn. It was the first hotel i met dog-friendly. (note: i am a cat's person). I loved it! Several families just enjoying their drinks and meal and the dogs by their side with food and water. Although i arrived late (with only 5min to ask for food), i was served like a prince :) The meals were awesome. We had steak and fish&chips. I couldn't ask for more space in the room. It is huge and comfortable! The breakfast is very complete and with good quality. My wife loved the overall looks of the hotel and dinning room and rooms. The service was always great, taking details in consideration. Just loved it!

Excellent inn with very spacious rooms - biggest rooms we had all trip. We enjoyed eating dinner at their pub as well, and breakfast was included. Ample parking and they were also next to a petrol station and a McDonalds - off a main highway but we found the inn to and our rooms to be quiet and still felt like we were staying in a British inn with the style of the building, so it kept a nice ambiance.

Warm, welcoming, and friendly, with well-appointed rooms - the bed was particularly comfortable - well deserving of its '10 rating' on Booking.com. The Oronsay has parking, and is very close to the town centre - an excellent location! If we're in Alnwick again, we'll definitely stay at the Oronsay.
