They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
The hosts were friendly, the Lodge looks beautiful. Liked the secluded spot, very quiet and peaceful. Only a short walk to both the Village Pub and bus stop into Tring. Lovely area for hiking with lots of footpaths near by.
It is self-catered accommodation but the food and drink provided was fantastic. Bread, milk, orange juice, selection of teas, coffee etc. croissants, cereal even homemade jam. It is a great location for attending Bury Farm Equestrian.
The cottage was perfect for our stay. Friendly and informative hosts. Great recommendation for pubs nearby.
Communication with hosts was easy and they were helpful and considerate. The property was attractive,
in a quiet rural location, quite private and well kept. There were plenty of items provided (tea, ground coffee, milk, croissants, jam etc) for a continental breakfast. The upstairs bedroom in particular was comfortably furnished and all the appliances were in good working order.
