We loved our stay at Crow How! It is in an excellent location, a short walk from Ambleside, was cozy and comfortable and the breakfast was great. Its also incredibly good value for what's offered. It's the best accom we have found in the Lake District for a long time!

A 5-minute walk from Ambleside and a mile from Lake Windermere, the largest natural lake in England, this charming guest house was originally 2 separate Victorian cottages. It specialises in home-cooked food and offers free Wi-Fi and free parking on site.

The breakfast was superb. Beautiful nutritious options served individually. The fruit smoothie was delicious. Also there were little sweet treats left out in the evening to have with a cuppa. Homemade treats. Big thanks to Amanda for her beautiful cooking. The bed was very comfortable. Service was terrific. Mark even helped carry our bags up and down the steps.

We had a really great experience staying at the Ambleside Inn. The food was very good, and the selection of beers was really nice too. For us, we found the staff to be one of the highlights of our entire stay. From Josh & Jack behind the bar, to Kali and Julie (managers on shift), to the cooks in the kitchen busting themselves to prep breakfast and our supper orders....it was a memorable stay, and we cannot wait for an opportunity to return to the Lake District just to stay here. The location is very central, and makes everything walkable - including the ferries (about 15-20 mins away).

Wendy is a super attentive host! She made the stay feel very welcoming and that every little detail was addressed. From check-in to parking (which was great to have as street parking was hard to find) to recommendations she was there to help with all of it. I also looked forward to breakfast every morning as Wendy's happy demeanor and energy was very infectious and set the day off right.

The presentation of the stunning grounds and the backdrop of hills and mountains made the stay exceptional. It was a very quiet setting - very desirable away from busy lifestyle. The attached cottage cafe added to the pleasure of staying in the hall. The evening menu was substantial and nicely presented. All staff were very courteous and went the extra mile to help make us welcome. The bus transport made access to local towns very appealing.

Very warm and welcoming host who took the time to tell us about the area and showed us to our room. We booked the Rothay suite and it was fabulous. Over looked the gardens and the river. Huge tv, fresh milk for the room and very comfortable. Lovely breakfast selection. Amazing location. I booked it again as soon as we got back. Would highly recommend a visit
