Lovely comfortable Room with harbour views and located right on the harbour.
The room was clean, comfortable and peaceful. The bed was very comfy.. We had the room at the top. There are stairs to climb but, it was so worth it. We had a window in the room and bathroom for fresh air and lovely views.
There is a shared lounge which was well appointed and access to the shared kitchen facilities
We appreciated all the breakfast items left for a self service breakfast- cereals, toast, fruit, yoghurts, pastries.
We loved our walk to Dunnottar castle and enjoyed exploring the town. Had an exceptional roast at the Tolbooth restaurant
We arrived by train and found it easy to walk to the Shorehead

The flexibility of being able to access the breakfast room and the self-service breakfast was a real bonus and an example of how this guest house thinks of everything and really wants to provide what its guests need. Similarly the flexibility in terms of late check-ins.

Excellent spacious cottage with lovely hosts — a completely separate building. The location is quite remote from any services, but allows for an excellent walk to the sea side. The cottage had a kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, kettle and a capsule coffee machine.
There are peacocks somewhere nearby, sometimes they pay a visit.
There is no breakfast, but kind hosts brought us some croissants, jam and milk.
Quaint apartment just north of Stonehaven. Very nice host who went out of her way to make our stay wonderful. Comfortable beds and very clean accommodations. Came with yogurt, juice, fresh bread and marmalade as well as tea and coffee. The huge bonus here is the beach. What a treasure! A short hike from the apartment and you’re on a mystical, craggy-cliffed private beach. Absolutely stunning! My kids even braved the North Sea for a quick dip.
Absolutely beautiful place! We were met by 2 of the 7 peacocks on the property ! The room was very spacious and the decor and furnishings were beautiful- we wanted for nothing. Angela was a welcoming host & gave us good recommendations for dinner & a beautiful walk along the cliff top near by which had breathtaking views! A lovely breakfast the next morning before our checkout. Highly recommend Toad Hall
This place is phenomenal, exceptionally high quality of both facilities and furnishings. The hostess Angie could not have been more helpful, what a brilliant treat awaits you if you stay here. The scenery, the walks, the views are magnificent. This is a hidden gem. I cannot recommend this guest house enough. I have already booked a long weekend with my wife for next month, and I'm already counting down the days.
Excellent location, near the sea with a little beach in walking distance, but very close to the main road into Aberdeen, yet away from street lighting so you could see so many stars on the clear nights we stayed there. Fantastic room, very comfortable with lovely, homely decor. Amazing quality breakfast and friendly host. Good communication, very helpful and knowledgeable about the local area.
