The breakfast was very good and there was plenty choice of cereals, pastries and fruit. There was also a cooked choice of bacon and eggs. The beds were very comfy and the room light and airy. The friendly host was very welcoming and helpful with places to try for evening meals.

Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
very quaint cottage with everything you could need including a range cooker. Very comfortable beds. Brilliant shower. Peaceful location but linked to all main roads in the area.
Fabulous warm room. Comfy beds. Everything you needed. Dee is a great host friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious. Would definitely stay again and certainly recommend.
It was very conveniently located for our trip and despite being near a main road was very quiet. The room was more than ample for 2 adults, a baby and a dog. The breakfast selection was good for a small establishment. Secure parking - ideal for our packed car for our long trip. Dee, the host, was really friendly, helpful and accommodating.
The Hawthornes’ location was convenient to the motorway and to all amenities. Dee was such a lovely host, warm and friendly and we enjoyed our time chatting with her over a delicious cooked breakfast. Our room was spotless! Dee also kindly recommended somewhere to eat the night we arrived, which was a big hit! All in all its a first class guest house! We will certainly be back!
Very friendly hosts. Amazing breakfast. Comfortable and clean room. TV and WiFi. Ensuite. Great location for Pontefract, Featherstone and beyond. Highly recommend.
