Our second visit within a week as we were walking the circular Borders Abbeys Way. Allerton House was our first and last night. We had the same room - Castle- as on the first visit some 6 nights previously. It was excellent and the en suite bath was much appreciated!

Lovely big room tastefully decorated with a huge bed. The bathroom was clearly set up to cater for guests with mobility issues but was perfectly fine. Breakfast was great and the owner delightful.

Breakfast was as good and delicious as if cooked by TV Masterchef, lots of choice, on time and hot. Stupendous. Beautiful house, 100% comfort, peace , quiet, tranquillity. Lovely outside terraces and gardens. Hosts made me feel home away from home. Nothing was too much trouble. Near railway for trips to Edinburgh centre rather than drive. Easy parking

They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Beautiful house with wonderful atmosphere. Hosts Sheila and her lovely husband were extremely friendly and welcoming. Breakfast in their fabulous breakfast room was amazing.
Nice quiet location.
Lovely historic building in quiet real setting. Decor is in keeping. Friendly and efficient hosts. We have been before and hope to go again. Excellent location near Jedburgh and on the A68 to Edinburgh.
Clean, quiet, very comfortable and had everything we could wish for in the room. Location is brilliant being very close to the centre of town. Great hosts with lots of local recommendations and brilliant breakfast.
This is one of our favorite BnB's in Scotland. The room is comfortable, quiet, with a view of the garden. Breakfast is outstanding in a charming room, including a fire in the fireplace when it is colder. The hosts are friendly, helpful, with attention to detail. Jedburgh is nearby and it is not far to many sights in the Borders.
