The location is great, now very quiet. Check the opening times of the village inn as it has reduced opening days. The owners are very friendly , helpful and always contactable.
The breakfasts are superb, lots of variety and in a great setting. As a dog owner we appreciate the consideration of the owners towards the use of outside spaces. There are good walking routes from the door and the villagers we met were friendly and chatty. The village location is within an hour of the sea (ask the owner for advice). Thankyou.

We went to Thirsk for two nights to watch the horse racing and found that the location was excellent with easy access to the racetrack and the town. The hosts were nice and friendly, even giving us advice on how to decide what horse to pick in the race. The room was very clean, and I noticed that they had even replenished our complimentary biscuits. Breakfast was excellent with perfectly cooked poached eggs. (Thank you Mark) The building is a very old building and I thought it gave the accommodation a bit of character. They had their own private car park, so the parking was free. I have no hesitation in recommending The Four Ways Guest House as a good place to stay when in Thirsk. I thought the place was very nice however because it’s an old building the stairs maybe a bit steep if you have mobility issues. If you are fit and well then, its a great place to stay so if you are going to Thirsk this is a good choice.
Situated outside of the market town of Thirsk, Linden Tree Holiday Apartments offers self catering apartments, as well as double and twin rooms, with free WiFi.

The owners were lovely, went above and beyond with helping and making sure we were happy.
Property was tidy and cozy with plenty of food and space.
Area is nice, not much around but there is a nice pub across the road with some great food.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
The perfect retreat, quaint and peaceful- fully equipped with everything you need - we loved it so much and will definitely return. Jane is the most delightful & wonderful host - thank you so much.
Great location. Secluded but within a short drive or walk to the main village.
Quiet and comfortable. Adequate room to relax.
Kitchen with enough appliances and kitchenware if you wanted to cook daily.
Within good distance of good quality restaurants.
Clean and warm with a good shower to clean up after a good stromp over the moors.
Great Location, lovely views, clean & modern yet still maintaining cottage charm. Host was very nice & kind letting us stay a little longer on checkout. Loved the log burner and would certainly stay again.
The hosts were simply lovely…..they were very welcoming, gave great tips on what do and where to go. The room was spotless and beautifully presented, the bed was huge and I had a fantastic nights sleep. The breakfast was varied, the Greek yogurt and fresh fruit was lovely. On our last day we were given a goody bag of their scones which were delicious, thank you.
Central location, comfortable and quiet. We had bed and breakfast, our food was cooked fresh to order. Carol and Frank were excellent host and had lots of local information.
Carol and Frank are great hosts and very informative about the local area. Stilworth House is in a great location just off the main street. Helmsley is a lovely market town with lots to explore. Will return.
