I had a wonderfully relaxed time. The Firs has a beautiful garden which looks lovely in autumn colours (and presumably in other seasons but I can only talk about autumn).
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Accommodation is in a charming wooded building behind a quaint pub. The room was very nice, clean, with a large, comfortable bed. The village is very picturesque set in lovely green countryside. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. The host was very helpful and obliging throughout our stay.
As soon as we arrived at the property, we were in absolute awe. It is breathtaking, even better than the photos if you can believe it! Beautiful rooms, beautifully decorated, so much character, and stocked with everyone you could need. As a group of 12, we were well looked after and Coralie is an excellent host - so helpful and welcoming. The barn is located in a lovely quiet village, close to Hay on Wye. We couldn’t recommend Meadow End Barn enough! Hope to return again in the future :)
This place is absolutely gorgeous It was perfect for a family get-together with 3 generations! They have thought of everything, and were perfect hosts. It's a great location, with lovely walks, close to Hay and a great pub nearby. I would highly recommend.
Magdalene was an excellent host, very friendly and helpful and had a wonderful personal touch. The wooden cabins were outstanding- built by master craftsmen in European spruce, they were beautiful, functional, warm and fragrant. The small village is off the beaten track and is quiet and quaint with great walking trails on your doorstep. The rooms are located right next to the Pandy Inn which has a lovely pub and serves good food. This was one of the best stays we experienced during our tour of the UK!
Location was very quiet, room was spotless and comfortable and warm . Pub next door served great beer and food. Magdalena contacted us in the morning to confirm arrangements for access and was there when we arrived. Breakfast was cooked fresh by her as we passed the time of day which was a nice touch. A very good host and would definitely return.
Beautiful setting, in a lovely quiet idyllic village, chickens and ducks roaming free.
Magdalena was a warm and welcoming host. Our room was stunning and very comfortable. Amazing cooked breakfast in the chalet every morning, very tasty.
We can’t wait to come back and stay again.
Fabulous breakfast, great host and a comfortable bed with hot shower. Great location with views to the hills and right across the road from the village pub.
It’s a very comfortable architect designed purpose built B&B based on a Polish design and feels rather like being in a chalet. our ground floor room had.it’s own patio and views over fields. a very quiet and relaxing place to stay and Magda could not have been more welcoming and a great host.
