An inn since the 15th century, this beautiful property offers boutique rooms and modern stable rooms with free Wi-Fi, just a few minutes’ walk from the city centre. It has a bar, library, and its Victorian walled garden is the largest in Canterbury.

The garden was a dream and it was nice to stay there in the evening and just drink a glass of wine.

Located in Canterbury, 1.3 km from Canterbury Cathedral and 4 km from University of Kent, The Maidens Chambers provides accommodation with free WiFi, air conditioning, a restaurant and a bar.

The Inn offers a seating area with a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with a hairdryer, free toiletries and bath.

The Chambers are located behind and above the 700 yr old pub called The Maidens Head. The rooms seem brand new to us, beautifully appointed with sparkling bathrooms and comfy beds. Everything is kept super clean. This was our second stay because on either end of our stay (in a great rental house outside of Canterbury), we needed overnight stays before getting into the house and before flying home. This place has a wonderful location just south of the old walls of Canterbury. (Don’t miss a stroll on the city walls starting 2 blocks away). It’s less than a 10-minute walk into the city center, via Castle St that runs into St Margaret’s St until you reach High St. And adjacent to The Maidens Head is a large industrial area filled with take out places, shops, auto repair places, Kendall Cars (a wonderful car rental place around the corner from the pub) and 2 big food markets - Aldi’s and Morrison’s. We loved being able to walk right into the city to see the cathedral, museums, galleries, an array of stores and shops including Primemark department store, and a fine Tourist Office that gives you maps and can book tours and experiences like the boat tours. Finally, we enjoyed our several meals at the Maidens Head pub, which serves very tasty food and has a lovely staff of lovely people.

Set in quaint gardens with plenty of free parking spaces for all guests, The Victoria Hotel offers traditional home-cooked food and free Wi-Fi. The hotel is a 15-minute walk from Canterbury centre, and just under a mile from Canterbury Cathedral.

The room was spotless, comfortable bed. Lots of tea, coffee and milk. The reception staff were very friendly but also professional and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Individual plates with smoked salmon or cheese or meat. Individual ramekins of yoghurt, fresh fruit and cereals. The cooked breakfast was served to us, beautifully cooked and hot.

Fantastic and plentiful breakfast catered for my needs as a vegan. The room was very comfortable and clean. The room was very quiet. I was able to park off the street in a gated area on the property. Paul and Heidi were very welcoming, warm, helpful and professional in their approach. They were great hosts. I stayed there for work and intend to stay again, not only for work, but for just taking a break in Canterbury. Thank you..

Great location really close to the city centre and (west) rail station, yet tucked away and quiet. As others have said, this place is 'compact' being one of about 8 little flatlets behind properties fronting the road. Look like conversions of former outbuildings. Has everything you need for a short stay, warm and comfortable.
