It’s a bed and breakfast lodging, quiet, small and well fitted out with kettle, tea, coffee etc. Modern bathroom with shower over bath, clean, lots of hot water, fluffy towels. Central heating very effective. Comfy bed with duvet, double, didn’t measure it, on the smallish side maybe 4’6’? Fits the bedroom. Bedside tables little kneehole desk, two upholstered dining chairs and small table under the window. No carpet, floor parquet. Little fridge contains fresh milk, orange juice, pack of ready charcuterie, very handy if you’ve brought your own drinks. Breakfast (£8.50?) waiting on arrival if you’ve ordered it, in a hamper containing croissants, cereal, jam, butter etc. Cafetière and filter coffee, hot chocolate, plus crockery and cutlery. Seems unfair to criticise it at the price, but it’s pretty basic, especially the croissants which were not good, and the absence of fruit. I stayed here for two nights, would do so again. Host is friendly, interested and helpful.

Dean and Lisa were excellent hosts nothing was too much trouble
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Lovely comfortable room. Hosts friendly, warm and welcoming - nothing was too much trouble. Deliciously cooked breakfast. Great location, within easy walking distance to beach, coastal path, shops and restaurants.
Fabulous location, Beer is very charming. Durham House is the perfect hotel to enjoy the village. The hotel is beautifully decorated with many period features that make it a super special place to stay. The breakfast is top class and hosts are very welcoming and go the extra mile to make sure you have a great stay. 100% recommended and will definitely be going back.
Absolutely perfect holiday let. Better than the pictures. Clean, well decorated and furnished with nice attention to detail; quiet and very functional. Situated at a perfect location in Beer. Easy parking nearby. Great host.
Unique accommodation, very quiet, countryside views, few minutes walk to beach & village.
The host left clear instructions how to access property - and we literally saw no other people while we stayed there. Nicely private.
Great location for the beach & surrounding areas of South Devon, coastal path walks with great views, local restaurants 2 minute walk from Durham House & pebble beach a 5 minute walk away, lovely hosts & breakfast.
Lovely clean room. There was milk and water in the fridge on arriva, which was a nice touch. Very cute and quiet bed and breakfast for a relaxing stay. Very friendly hosts and a tasty breakfast in the mornings. Great location, short walk to the sea and great base to explore the area.
