Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.

The accommodation is located in a quiet town/village set in a national part. It was quiet and peaceful and our host was fantastic. She offered us milk and essentiaks etc which was great at the end of a day's driving. Lovely lady who made us feel welcome.
We were travelling with a dog and the apartment was large enough for us all.
Even though it was a Sunday food was available locally, our host recommended it and it lived up to the recommendation.
Quiet and comfortable. The hostess has been really nice and helpful.
The village is small but has several shops where everything can be found. People a really nice.
The perfect quiet rural base from which to explore Monfrague, Cacares, Trujillo.
Good well marked walks from the palacio.
Garden to sit in.
Charming and hard working hosts running a working farm with sheep, pigs, geese, etc.
High quality home cooking, often with own farm produce.
Very comfortable and very clean.
A thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing stay.
We loved hearing the dawn chorus and watching the resident swallows.
Friendly family-run hostal, breakfast was great : freshly-made tostada with tomato and a very good jamón, fresh fruit (kiwis, bananas, apples). The restaurant was very good, the secreto delicious and portions large. I would most definitely go there again.
1. Swimming pool looks really nice (it has even place with grill). It's good to know that it's 150m from the house
2. Localisation almost in the National Park
3. Quiet yet not "abandoned" town with few groceries and restaurants
4. Caring hostess and well-equiped appartment with all amenities (we lack of electric kettle but probably it's just not a standard in Spain)
5. Two AC units so you can control temperature entirely
6. Good wi-fi
This was a truly a unique experience ! This authentic hotel is located at the border of the Monfragüe National Park in Cáceres. The scenery is awesome, also at night (no light pollution at all). The place is very very quiet; ideal location to fully disconnect. Carmen is the perfect host, and a great cook !
A very pleasant apartment in a quiet village location. Everything was very clean and comfortable and our hostess was very welcoming. We ate at the Centro Social, next door to the Ayuntamiento - very basic place, but warm service and wonderful food cooked with real heart.
Small scale and quiet. Good food and a very nice host.
