Offering an intimate Big 5 safari experience, Quatermain's 1920's Safari Camp features a boma bonfire and BBQ facilities. It is located in the Amakhala Game Reserve.

A picture perfect camp on a fantastic game reserve. The camp was exactly as sold which is exactly what we wanted - rustic but homely and comfortable. You get multiple chances for drinks (alcoholic and non) and 3 meals a day which are very tasty. From start to finish we were made to feel welcome by the whole team who clearly love their jobs and are very passionate about conservation and all things nature. Our guides Lungi and Yohan were both incredibly knowledgable and friendly. Riaan’s bush walk was a particular highlight - what this man doesn’t know, isn’t worth knowing! We have all done safari before in different parts of Africa but all agreed this was the best experience we’ve ever had and will definitely look at coming back in the future.

The tents are great- super comfy bed, hot powerful shower, lovely to have our own balcony not overlooked by other tents. I loved having communal meals and speaking to the other guests, the food was great and there was so much of it! The game drives were great, our guide Kristen was so enthusiastic and knowledgable and able to answer all our questions without hesitation! We didn’t have the best weather but even with rainy game drives and thunderstorms overnight we had the most fantastic stay.

Stunning place, absolute luxury for tents in the Bush, in the middle of nowhere. Such a treat to live almost alongside the animals (from a safe distance!) and to observe in natural surroundings. Saw so many beautiful creatures and I loved that the lodge was respectful and conscious of the environment in terms of the minimal impact construction of the accommodation (beautifully equipped luxury tents) and yet struck a really lovely balance with comfort and beautiful design. A very special experience that we will treasure forever.
