The Headland Hotel and Spa 5 stars

Newquay

There are three restaurants, and the hotel has been awarded an AA rosette. Guests can enjoy the best of Cornish coastal produce in the brand new restaurant RenMor or in the more relaxed Terrace which features an outdoor veranda with stunning beach views. The Deck as part of the Aqua Club offers poolside drinks, and Mediterranean dining. Afternoon teas and Cornish breakfasts are available, and the bar offers cocktails and fine wines.

The spacious 5-star bedrooms at The Headland have free Wi-Fi access and satellite TV. All rooms feature a cosy seating area, a work desk and a modern bathroom with fluffy robes. The public spaces were outstanding, as was the spa and the choice of places to eat. The setting is unique, being surrounded on one side by the sea and the other by a golf course. The staff were beyond excellent, especially Verity who kept us supplied with hot drinks and Reece, always cheerful and engaging. The smoked salmon for breakfast was the best that I have ever tasted, (I am now a fan of smoked salmon whereas before our stay I was indifferent). The 'overnight' oats with fruit was magnificent. The pizza in The Deck was the best since we lived in Rome many years ago. Our room was spacious and comfortable and we especially enjoyed the humourous friendly notices by the service lifts and the kitchens. All in all, a most friendly and welcoming, unstuffy beautiful hotel deserving of its 5-star rating.
