Stromboli
Situated in Stromboli, 700 metres from Ficogrande Beach, Agriturismo SoleMare features recently renovated accommodation with free WiFi and a garden. The property features mountain and garden views, and is 800 metres from Piscita Beach. The farm stay has family rooms and facilities for disabled guests. This was a beautiful property tucked away on the far side of town on the mountain edge of town, 1/2 mile from the ferry. Our hostess/owner Anna provided many recommendations and helped us book a boat tour through her many connections in town. Her breakfasts top all other breakfasts! The figs, oh my... Our patio had a lovely hammock - with volcano view - and table to chill at. A nearby beach, 6 minute walk was heavenly, and just above it was a quaint hotel restaurant. Can you say afternoon spritz? We of course did the self guided night hike of Stromboli volcano. Mesmerizing...and not as hard as you'd think. A big light show at night! The room was comfortable and cool, spotlessly clean and very very quiet. If you speak Italian you will be able to learn much more history from Anna. Unfortunately my Spanish and French didn't quite cut it for complicated conversations, but we managed to communicate quite well despite my lack of Italian :) Anna is warm and welcoming and super helpful.
The Agriturismo is located a short walk from the centre of the centre of the town and on the other side a short walk to the beach. We only stayed one night as we were climbing Stromboli and it was a perfect location and the following morning we had a delicious homemade and homegrown breakfast made by Anna.
The breakfast was extraordinary with fresh eggs, honey, marmelades and fruit from the farm and many more local goodies. It was beautifully served outside on Anna'a porch. We felt like family.
Fantastic location, beautiful large room with a private patio - perfect for relaxing. Anna's hospitality is second to none - and her breakfast must be legendary by now! We really enjoyed our time at Agriturismo SoleMare and would stay here again.
