We had an exceptional stay at Killean Farmhouse. It is a short drive out of Inverary but feels beautifully remote. The room was the nicest we stayed in during our trip in Scotland, very comfortable and well appointed. The breakfast in the morning was great with a very nice porridge. The team running it were very warm and helpful. We loved it.
Beautiful old farmhouse.
Excellent value for money. Lovely farm house in a fantastic setting. Owners were outstanding. Cannot thank them enough. We had a ball. We were looking for a relaxing break in a rural area and that's exactly what it was. We are missing it already.
Oh god, everything ! What a phenomenal stay we had ! The photos dont do the view justice ! The hottubs are ready when you arrive and for the duration of your stay, the barn is well designed to a high spec. Great additional packages like the farm tour and the steak package. Absolute luxury in a serene location and entirely private ! Cannot wait to go again next easter, we will be thinking about this stay forever !
A beautiful house, comfy clean room, decent sized shower with plenty of hot water. A beautiful sitting room for guests with tea and coffee available. Breakfast is available for a small charge, which was very good. All in all I'd highly recommend Maxwelston Farmhouse
Gillian is a very personable host and maintains very high standards. Large bedroom was warm and inviting. Included an en-suite which looked very new and very clean. The TV room was downstairs encompassing the dining area. Fabulous open log fire and very comfortable. All furnishings and decor were to a very high standard and appropriate to the old farm house building. Veggie breakfast was brill including the best poached eggs ever. Would certainly stay again. Thanks Gillian.
We received a very friendly welcome. There was a little fridge in the room with fresh milk for tea. Our room was spacious and comfortable and the shower, when we got it working, was good and powerful. No evening meal available at the farmhouse, but our hostess gave us plenty of recommendations as a result of which we ended up at a good Italian place in Prestwick (Vito's). Breakfast was very good, including excellent home-made jam and marmalade.
Dierde and David are lovely hosts and invest a lot of effort into making your stay pleasurable. They have great knowledge of the local area and are happy to spend time sharing their tips. The property is a rustic farmhouse, ideally located for those who want the tranquillity of the countryside, and is only 25 minutes from Oban. The breakfast is excellent and cooked to order for each guest. Recommend staying here for more than a single night to really appreciate the charm of the place.
Killean Farm House is in a great location just outside the busy tourist town of Inveraray. It stands in its own grounds off the road so it really was a silent night. The old farmhouse has a lovely living room space with a real fire and the views from the breakfast room are fantastic. I'm not vegan but the Scottish breakfast was the best I've had. It was a great way to start the day.
